If you or your partner are aged over 55 you could qualify for a free simple Will or mirror Wills for couples. The campaign runs between 1st March to 31st March 2023 and is subject to availability as numbers are limited. We can provide additional services for Trusts and Lasting Power of Attorney but these are at an additional cost and not covered by the Free Will Month campaign.
What is a Will?
A Will is a legal document in which a person (Testator) directs how his or her estate is distributed after their death.
What is Trust?
A trust is a legal arrangement for holding and managing your assets.
This can be a useful way to ensure that assets are retained in the family, particularly when the beneficiary is under the age of 18, vulnerable or cannot handle their own affairs. Trusts have their own specific tax implications which should be explored at the outset.
What is a Lasting Power of Attorney
A lasting power of attorney allows your appointed attorney(s) to make decision about your financial affairs or health and care. You can restrict the decisions your attorney can make and state that the lasting power of attorney only comes into force if you lose mental capacity.
This can give you peace of mind to know that your attorney will make sure that your financial affairs and health and care needs are met in the event that you lose mental capacity.
