Dec. 24, 1704, appointed Sergeant in 1642.” The book states: “Probably all of the Wheelers who came to America before the year 1640 none was of greater distinction or of more importance to the town in which he lived than George Wheeler of Concord. He was the brother of Timothy Wheeler and of Capt. Thomas Wheeler and a nephew of Obidiah Wheeler. He was a man of education and the owner of a large amount of property, owning lands in every part of the town....”
