Pershore Plum Festival Quadruple award winner of Worcestershire’s Best Tourism Event and Festival, the Pershore Plum Festival returns from 2nd July to 28th August. Think Pershore, think purple, think plums!

P

ershore town will be going plum crazy this summer by turning purple to celebrate the fruit that made it so famous. The Pershore Plum Festival is unique and quirky, packed with events and activities to suit the whole family. The Pershore Yellow Egg plum was discovered in Tiddesley Wood by George Crooke in 1827 and to celebrate its 190th anniversary there will be many plummy events and activities to enjoy throughout the Festival.

Sunday 2nd July, Plum Blossom Sunday & Race Evening at The Angel Hotel, Pershore Celebrate the start of the 2017 Pershore Plum Festival by attending the free Plum Blossom Sunday event from 12noon, where you can appreciate some of the finest young entertainers 16

in the area, culminating in the crowning of this year’s Plum Princess. At 7pm, and new for this year, an evening of filmed horse racing in the Angel riverside garden marquee is certain to complete your plum day. All profits go towards this year’s Plum Festival. Tuesday 1st August, The Angel Hotel Pershore Plum Festival Evening Races at Worcester Racecourse, WR1 3EJ The festival resurrects prestigious local racing history courtesy of Worcester Racecourse. A purple themed evening packed with Victorian and Edwardian antiquities and the revival of many horse races which celebrate the famous Pershore plums. With the help of the Evesham Vale Tour Guides and Dudley’s Coaches the Pershore Plum Festival is delighted to offer a unique experience for plumlovers of all ages with a guided tour of beautiful Georgian Pershore and its famous fruit. Held throughout Pershore there is something for all the family.
