QUALITY BRANDED CLOTHwww.tangentoffice.com ING FOR YOU

I read your magazine every month and always find something of interest. In the September (#31) issue you mentioned about the new ‘greener fuel’ E10 which I have to confess I had not heard about until then. It got me thinking on another connected issue I feel strongly about – Car Engine Idling.

I live in a road close to a school entrance, so obviously we have a lot of cars coming and going for the school runs. I notice especially (but not exclusively) in summer a number of cars that leave their engines running whilst waiting to collect their children. And I’m not talking a few minutes – some cars arrive half hour early to ‘grab’ a prime parking spot. This is obviously not climate friendly and definitely not helping to have cleaner air in the neighbourhood. I’m guessing this must go on at other schools in the area too. So this is really a plea to all parents to please, please switch off your engines (and perhaps go and sit under a tree if the weather is too hot to stay in the car!). Sally Mayer A really good point made Sally – we’ve covered this topic in this month’s eco feature (page 19) to help educate others on the environmental impact Car Engine Idling has.

Another lovely drawing sent in by reader, Len Hook. If you’d like to showcase something you’d made or drawn, get in touch at hello@lifeinmagazines.co.uk

A GOOD JOB!

Your magazine has certainly livened up the long, dreary isolation time for me. It gave me something useful to do apart from trying to clear away the clutter that we all collect! Diana Elvin That's great to hear Diana - thank you!

What’s Your Take...?

We ask for your views on topics that matter. This month’s question:

What's your favourite go-to place in the borough?

Fiona Cash

Goddington Park > Chelsfield Village > St Martin’s Tours Church > Chelsfield Station back to goddington - 3 miles. Amazing views of London but offers a feeling of freedom. I walk it most days. I’ve spotted parakeets, foxes, rabbits.. every day is different. We should appreciate what’s near to us!

Caroline Jenkins

Scadbury for walks and Fiesta Mexicana for food, cocktails & fantastic evenings out.

Kathryn Bell

High Elms and The Green Roof Cafe for an afternoon tea and The Woodman pub in Farnborough Village on a Friday with a Forcella pizza followed by a drink.

Jacky Skinner

Walk to Priory Gardens to photograph the squirrels and the waterfowl and back. Sometimes stopping at Primo Coffee Shop on the way home – heaven!

Louise Allen

Keston Ponds or Hawkswood for family walks. Masala Dabbas for lovely Indian food and drink with hubby. Airjump for exercise with the kids. Xenia for chill out cocktails with the girls!
