Choose wisely
If we fail a test, are we useless or do we need to do more work? Take a moment to notice what you have decided some news or situation means; what we make something mean is not the only meaning on offer.
1% boost
When in a slump or finding it hard to get motivated, we can take an all-or-nothing approach. This strategy is the worst thing we can do. Instead, start small and aim to be 1% better tomorrow than you are today.
Choose happiness
Some people revel in being miserable, but motivation and misery are not best buddies. Do what you need to do to make space for happiness. You’ll see your motivation increase.
Flip it
Turn your lack of motivation on its head. Make a list of the things that DO NOT motivate you. Knowing what we don’t want can lead to clarity about how to regain our mojo.
Gratitude ritual
Start and end the day with three things that you are grateful for: could be a person, a pet, even a hobby. It’s not happy people who are grateful, but grateful people who are happy. Remember, nothing is more powerful than a changed mind.

AVOID THE MAY BANK HOLIDAY TRAFFIC!
• Plan your route in advance! Avoid notorious motorways and peak hours likely to be affected by congestion.
These include the M4, M5, M6, M25,
M40 and also the M20, which leads to the Channel Tunnel. Furthermore, roads leading to DIY, garden and shopping centres are also likely to be busy during opening hours so realtime road updates can be checked online before leaving home on apps such as Google Maps or WAZE.
• Check for any vehicle faults: According to the RAC, almost half of vehicle breakdowns can be easily avoided if motorists carry out simple checks before setting off. Key factors to check include a car’s engine oil level, tyre pressure, coolant levels and brake lights.
• Drive through the night: If you’re off to visit friends or family who live further away, off-peak driving can save lots of time and frustration whatever the destination.
