Business review

Name: CJ’s Pretty Little Bakes Product reviewed: Afternoon Tea In A Box for Two (£30) of which £1 is donated to the local St Christopher’s Hospice. First impressions: The presentation of the box was beautiful – lots of attention to detail and I could see there was a lot of variety of products offered. The details: Sandwiches ranged from mature Cheddar cheese and red onion to smoked salmon and cream cheese, while sweet treats included brownies, scones with clotted cream and jam, milk chocolate cookies and cheesecake. It all tasted delicious. Any surprises? I liked the addition of teabags in the box and the Lindt chocolate rabbit was a nice touch for Easter. Favourites: The cookies, brownies and scones were amazing – real homemade goodies, and the mini cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries added a touch of luxury. Verdict: I’d definitely recommend and would buy myself. The fact the price includes such a variety of products and all high quality, plus the free delivery means it’s great value for money. It would make an ideal (and unique) gift for someone’s birthday or special occasion. Contact: Email: cjsplb@gmail.com or see Instagram @cjsprettylittlebakes

We had a great response to young entrepreneurs who were inspired by seven-year old Arthur who launched his organic soap business. This month we’re featuring Katie and Fraser… Meet Katie…

Katie, who is 14, launched Sweetness Galore during the latest lockdown. The concept offers affordable gift boxes of sweets, packaged in a way to make an ideal gift or just treat yourself. Katie says: “I started my own business because I enjoy making things and this was a way of earning money whilst doing something I enjoy. At the moment I am keeping things simple, but as I grow, I want to offer various different boxes such as vegan boxes and chocolate boxes.”

Meet Fraser…

Eight-year-old Fraser Louie Smithard-Powell set up NG⬆️ (Stands for Never Give Up), offering clothing including hats, hoodies, t-shirts and facemasks. Fraser says… I had been asking mum for a couple of years if I could make my own items like her. Lockdown was boring and mum asked if I’d like to make something, so I started making hats and designing logos.
