“See I am doing a new thing, see I have already begun, do you not see it?” ISAIAH 43:19
Nehemiah was God’s man for the hour in rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem. He was not deflected from his purpose through naysayers. The work progressed rapidly because of the volunteers and was completed in a very short time. The Lord has brought you to the Kingdom for such a time as this and He wants you to partner with Him and be busy with what He is busy with in these last days. We are part of the new that God promised in Isaiah 43:19, “See I am doing a new thing, see I have already begun, do you not see it?”. When you observe construction work on a road, you are left wondering, ‘when will it ever be finished?’ We too could way, ‘Lord you started a work, when will it be complete?’ If we live by sight instead of faith, we are tempted to grow weary in doing well. In Isaiah 43, the Lord declares that He is doing a new thing.
The priests in Malachi’s time had lost their vision and openly questioned God’s love, only to show their own waning affection that led them to dishonour God. They, like us, were called to represent God’s love to the world, instead, they were caught up in their old religious rituals. They needed a new encounter with the living God. The essence of the new life offered to us in Galatians 2:20, in the Passion translation, is that my life “is no longer mine for the anointed one lives His life through me. We live in union as one.” I am always a son, greatly beloved by the One who gave His life for me. His touch changes me forever, we are not our own we have been bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus. It is no longer a duty or a slog but a privilege to represent Him well. We are His ambassadors. He is not the one holding us back. His love compels us to be the salt and light in this world.
There is a great harvest in these last days, and we are called to touch the broken hearted and rejoice with them that the new is here. Heaven is touching earth through us. There is a great work to be done.
