SUZANNE VEGA Regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega ushered in a female, folk-pop singer-songwriter movement.

Since Vega’s debut 25 years ago she has sold over seven million albums and has been nominated for seven Grammy awards. Her hits include “Luka” and “Tom’s Diner.” Her voice on “Tom’s Diner” was used in the refinement of the MP3, earning her the nickname “The Mother of the MP3.” Last spring, Vega wrote and starred in the off-Broadway play “Carson McCullers Talks About Love.”

Vega continues to tour constantly, having just played dates with artists as diverse as Moby and Bob Dylan, and currently is reinterpreting her catalog in an intimate manner, creating four thematic albums called the “Close-Up” series.
