There are two different ways for you to take your time, either via a watch with GPS, or with a phone with GPS reception and a training app. Lidingöloppet is connected to the training app STRAVA, which you can download free of charge via AppStore or Google Play.

Make sure you have a fully charged phone/watch with you and that you have downloaded the latest version of the app/software. Lidingöloppet recommends that you use the training app STRAVA, but it is also possible to use alternatives that have GPS functionality such as Runkeeper or other common apps

Make sure that you prepare your app/watch for timing and that you have ”captured” a GPS reception where you are. You start your race by starting the timing via the app/clock you are going to measure the time with.

THE RACE

You start your race at any time and time and at any day you want. The only requirement is that you complete the race during the period 1 October – 31 October 2021. You start your race by setting up your GPS watch or GPS phone. You take are responsible for ensuring that you have run the distance where you are registered for.

Since you run your race yourself, you need to make sure to arrange your own refreshments. Be sure to drink properly before the race.

Stop the time when you have reached the distance of the race you are registered for. Remember to save your activity to your app/watch, please double check so that the app/watch has registered your running correctly.

Performance reporting – no later than the 3rd of November ??? When you have reached the finish, report your time via “Report Results” available on My Pages. (Link to My Pages can be found in the e-mail Start Certificate). A detailed instruction on how this is done can be found below and can also be found on Lidingöloppet’s website.

TIMEKEEPING

THE TIMEKEEPING

There are two different ways for you to take your time, either via a watch with GPS, or with a phone with GPS reception and a training app. Lidingöloppet is connected to the training app STRAVA, which you download free of charge via AppStore or Google Play.

BEFORE YOUR RACE:

Make sure that you have a fully charged phone/watch with you and that you have downloaded the latest version of the app you are going to measure your time with.

AT THE START:

Make sure that you prepare your app/clock for timing and that you have “captured” GPS reception where you are.

When the “start shot” goes, start the timing via the app/ clock you are going to measure the time with. Select Race/Race on your activity. This measures the time from start to finish when you stop the clock/app, i.e Elapsed Time. If the watch/app is set to Run/Training, the time will appear in Moving Time when you save your activity. Usually shorter because you may have stopped and drunk or tied your shoes. The performance time is measured with Elapsed Time=total time.

AT THE FINISH:

Stop the time when you have reached the “right” distance.

Be sure to save the activity in your app/watch, please double check so that the app/watch has registered your run before you leave the target area.

Moving Time - Time of movement. The time when you are in motion during your session. Most often, this time will be shown on your watch/app if you have the Run/Training setting.

Elapsed Time - total time start to finish. Total time between start and finish on your activity on your watch/app. Shown if you choose Race/Race on your activity on your watch/app. This is the time on which the result time is based.

When reporting your time: Go to My Pages (link can be found in the e-mail Start Certificate). Here you can now choose two different ways to report your time.

1. By submitting GPX file from any training app How you do it differs a little depending on the watch/app you have. Visit each manufacturer’s page to learn how to proceed. Download the GPX file, preferably to your computer or phone, and then upload it to our interface. Note, the file you selected must have the ending .gpx so that we can read the results.

For those of you who use Runkeeper, here’s what to do; End your recording in the Runkeeper app, Sign into Runkeepers website (not app. )If you can see your activity in your activity feed, click on it there, otherwise click on the “me” tab, and then select activities on the right side of the screen. This allows you to choose from all your activities - select the appropriate activity and it is uploaded to the right panel. Scroll down the page and directly below the activity on the right side there is a section called “Export” with a link that says “GPX” - click there. A GPX file is downloaded to your computer - remember where it is saved. That’s the one you need to upload.

2. By selecting any of the sessions that you registered in the training app Strava.

Either you can connect your training app/watch directly to Strava which means that the workouts including your competition performance show up directly in STRAVA and are selectable there, (here you will find a good information page on how to connect the watch with STRAVA). Alternatively, use STRAVA as your timing app on your phone. You must first link your Lidingölopps account to your Strava account, which you do by clicking on the “Connect with Strava” button. After that, you will be able to choose which of your Strava activity you want to submit as your “competition entry”.

If none of these two reporting methods work, you will also be able to report your time manually under “My Pages”

If your result is approved, i.e. has the right distance for your registered distance, you will immediately be notified. It may be that there is some kind of ambiguity in your result and that we need to review this manually. In this case, you will be informed by email of this when your result is approved.

Your grade is highlighted in the results list with a yellow triangle while the review is in progress. The results of our races will be updated continuously throughout the period that runs, 1 – 31 October 2021 on our website www.tcslidingoloppet.se. Please note that separate result lists will be drawn up for those who run @Hemma and on site at Lidingö during TCS Lidingöloppsveckan.
