Last day of our stay in Alexandroupolis Carnival celebrations

As we were celebrating Carnival, the Greek students invited us to a traditional barbecue all together and, in the evening, to a local club to spend one last evening together, dancing and having fun.

We arrived on 20th February. Greece is beautiful from the plane!

On the 21st we were at the school. First we could look around and visit classes and after that we had culture and etiquette presentations from every country and a quiz.

Later we had a look at the exhibition of Covid essays and the „Faces” and „Masks” photo competition.

After lunch we took part in icebreaking activities in the gym. We were shy at first ☺

22nd of February

We had programmes at the school, first presentations about the Teenage parliament (student council).

Then we did yoga and we learnt Greek dances. We also played volleyball in the break in international teams ☺

The Historical Museum of Alexandroupolis taught us a lot about the city’s past and its culture. Spiridoula was our local guide ☺ We played with the interactive map and we could also look inside drawers with artefacts. It was fun!

23rd February The best day: ziplining, archery, bouldering and trekking at Nestos Adventure Park. We all loved it!

We were guided around the charming city of Xanthi, and learnt about its multicultural history. We visited a unique museum of shadows. It was something exciting we have never seen before

24th February

This day started with sadness because the war in Ukraine broke out. Mr Cuccinello also mentioned it when he gave his presentation about his book Pathemata Mathemata. After this certificates were presented. And finally, students had a workshop with a psychologist.

As it was the carnival season in Greece we spent the last evening with food and fun in the Greek way. We spent unforgettable days there! Thank you!
