OUR COMMITMENT TO TRANSFORMATION OUR DIGITAL AMBITION To fully realise the vision for the FutureReady Library we must embrace the opportunities of Digital Transformation balanced with an awareness of the challenges and complexities inherent in this type of rapid organisational change. The UOW Library is making a conscious decision to be a Digital First Library; while preserving our commitment to excellence in research, teaching and learning. Our aspirations for transformation extend beyond digitising content or optimising processes and systems through the use of technology. Personalised, human-centred experiences are at the core of our ambition. We will leverage our position as a trusted advisor and leader to work alongside students and staff so that they can move towards and fulfil their academic aspirations. This is achieved through the collective efforts of an agile and resilient workforce where our people thrive on solving problems collaboratively, often with technology but always in order to provide an exceptional user experience. To this end we have not created a separate digital strategy as this cannot be an afterthought. Instead we have created a business strategy which embeds these digital principles across all that we do and in our very fabric as a digital library. We will challenge established structures and are willing and prepared to take risks - these risks will be informed ones where learning will be just as important

as success. We will embrace new and emerging digital trends and technologies to position ourselves to be able to see over the horizon so we can respond rapidly to change and ensure we truly are the FutureReady Library. Success will be reflected in our students and staff ability to perform and thrive in an increasingly digital society; through high levels of satisfaction with interaction and engagement with the services and resources of the Digital Library. Through the automation of services, we can redirect our professional expertise to new areas of growth reflective of the evolution of pedagogy and research practices and student learning and success of a 21st century university.

DIGITAL FIRST PRINCIPLES Design with the user –– User-centred design starts with getting to know and understand the people you are designing for through conversations, observation and co-creation. Consider universal design principles wherever possible for the best possible user outcomes. Empower users of digital –– Ensure investment addresses the needs of students, academics and researchers. Strive for seamless anytime, anywhere, any device access to University services. Facilitate personal agency through selfservice, reduced manual intervention and de-duplication of effort.
