Lib Tech STORM FACTORY
The Storm Factory is a massive expanse of North Pacific Ocean that relentlessly manufactures powerful west coast winter storms making fishing and crabbing in the Gulf of Alaska deadly, sending powerful swells to Hawaii's North Shore and Northern California's Mavericks, dumping record amounts of snow and rain on the mountains of Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California and sweeping east through Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Colorado. Located on the west coast of Near Canada, Lib Tech is directly in the path of these "Storm Factory" weather systems. Weatherproof gear is a life or death necessity. A lifetime of experience working and playing in these conditions has been applied to the Lib Tech ExperiMental divisions Storm Factory gear.
Lib tECO TECHSTYLE?
The cornerstone of our Storm Factory line is the development of Lib tECO TECHSTYLE. Our own weatherproof, recycled, breathable, rugged, lightweight, environmentally friendly laminated fabric. Bonded without the use of solvents to a recycled polyester outer fabric and tested daily in the worst conditions the Storm Factory can throw at us. Lib tECO TECHSTYLE is fabric you can feel good about trusting when the Storm Factory sends one your way.
How Lib tECO TECHSTYLE works: Lib Tech*
A "monolithic" membrane laminate insures no water can get in from the outside but water vapor molecules are transported through the membrane from the inside to the outside by way of an absorption and evaporation process. Water stays out, moisture moves out, you stay dry.
Lib tECO TECHSTYLE is a more environmental choice!
Lib tECO TECHSTYLE uses a recycled polyester fabric base (think soda bottles) and a non toxic lamination process and is recyclable when you are done. The most famous laminated fabric uses PTFO a fluorosurfactant during the manufacturing process which carcinogenic in animals and a persistent environmental contaminant. The manufacturer is currently involved in a class action lawsuit investigation involving PTFO and increased risk of disease in populations exposed to PTFO near a chemical production facility‌ 1
