Happy Holidays Key Clubbers! :D Time for the big news! The beginning of 2014 will be full of important events. On January 13th, we will have club elections to see who will be the successors of the 20132014 Lindbergh High School Key Club Board. On January 25th, Division 32 will have elections to see who will be the next Lieutenant Governor. From April 4th to April 6th, the 65th Annual Pacific Northwest District Convention (PNW DCON) will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Seattle. Once DCON over, the 2014-2015 Board will take over LHS KC. I’m super excited for all these major events to happen! With elections and DCON aside, I hope you guys enjoyed the events in November and December! I sure did! They were full of joy and laughter. In January, tutoring at Renton Park will start! I can’t wait! I hope y’all have had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I can’t wait to see you all in 2014! <3 Yours always in Caring, Love, Friendship, and Service Morgan Lucena 2013-2014 LHS Key Club President

Happy New Year

!

I hope that y'all had a wonderful holiday season! Reflecting on our club, we've done so much. 2,024 hours worth of service: our Key Club has made an astronomical difference. You as an individual have really changed our club and community more than you realize. To wrap up our year, 2013's last newsletter's theme is "Hey Soul Sister" by Train. I'd like to remind you that we are all soul sisters. We all have the same passion for service, optimism for change, and capacity to care: we share the same souls. Here's to a new year of heart, positivity, and making a difference !

I hope you have a great start to the new year! 2013-2014 LHS Key Club Bulletin Editor Jenny Zhang

BY JUSTIN DANAO In the month of November we had many fun and exciting events! We had the Lions Club Christmas Tree Sale Set Up and the Piazza Birthday Dreams Auction on the same day. At the Christmas tree set up we moved wooden tree stands and boards where the trees would be sold. At the Piazza Birthday Dreams Auction we monitored the auction table and gave out prizes to the winners. The following week we had the Holiday Bazaar at the Renton Community Center where we helped vendors sell their food. We also had the Evergreen Garland Hanging where we went to Downtown Renton and hung garlands on the light posts. That weekend we also had the Lions Club Christmas Tree Sale where we carried the different kinds of trees and prepared them for the sale. The month of December was also filled with thrilling events! We had the Renton Park Holiday Breakfast Set Up where we set up for the Santa breakfast. On the same day we also had the Clam lights event

where we sang, helped with horse rides, and assisted Santa. The following day we had the actual Renton Park Holiday Breakfast where we cleaned up after the event and made sure things were running smoothly. We also had the Salvation Army Bell Ringing I-IV where we rung bells for the Salvation Army in front of Fred Meyers. We had the KOMO News Toy Drive where we stood outside of the Fred Meyers in Downtown Renton and informed customers on the toy drive that was happening. We also had to Salvation Army Food Drive at a Safeway in the Highlands. We promoted Hunger Bags which were bags bought by customers and donated to families of four. We also had the Renton Civic Theatre’s Emergency Response event where we did behind the scenes jobs. Don’t miss out on the fun, so check out the upcoming events and come!

BY JESSICA TIAMZON Hi Guys :) I hope you’re having a wonderful break! At the December 16th meeting, we had a pie-an-officer fundraiser for the Eliminate Project that raised $62, and combined with Happy Sad Coins, we’ve raise $426.20. I want to thank you guys for donating your change; we saved 236 lives affected by MNT. We officially have 85 members in our club and I know that some of you didn’t get to pay your dues on the last Friday before winter break. I want to remind you that you guys have until Tuesday, January 7th to pay at the latest. Dues are $16 dollars! Also, DCON is around the corner! It will be held in Seattle at the Sheraton Hotel. The official cost for DCON is $232.50. It is a lot of money, but we have some scholarships for you guys :) The people that have volunteered for 100+ hours can qualify for a $100 discount, 50+ hours can qualify for a $75 discount, 30+ hours can qualify for a $50 discount, and 20+ hours can qualify for a $30 discount.
