Hola las llaves de mi corazón

,

So basically the Key Club year is over and DCON is in a few days and the new officers will be officially installed and my life of stopping to take pictures of the club while we're potting shrubs at the local plant nursery is over. This is crazy stuff! Just yesterday I was making my first newsletter, thinking to myself "this took like six hours. I'm going to be insane by April 2014." Well, guess what! I'm only partially insane, just like how I get partially a decent sleep every night. That's okay though. Key Club has totally changed my high school experience this past year, and not to mention my entire life. It's become a way of living. I chose Everyday by the Cast of High School Musical (!!!) for this newsletter because we live Key Club everyday. I won't go in depth to the lyrics but really... they're pretty darn accurate! I love you guys! I'm so so glad I have another year with you. 2013-2014 LHS Key Club Bulletin Editor Jenny Zhang

Hello there my fantabulous LHS Key Clubbers! The end of March is finally nearing, which means the most important weekend of the year is fast approaching. DCON marks the end of my presidential term and the start of Justin’s. I have been on a crazy ride while serving you all as your 2013-2014 Lindbergh High School Key Club President. I do admit that leading a club as president takes time, energy, and tons of work and brings loads of stress, especially during testing seasons, but I don’t regret running at all. I do admit that I made some mistakes as president, didn’t execute everything I wanted to, and ran into some major obstacles, but I did cry, sweat, and work as hard as I could, so I will be talked about one day as the president who did a great job. I will live vicariously through my innie in hopes that he will do everything I couldn't do. Serving as your KC president has taught me a lot of things. I’ve learned how to make a Key Club PowerPoint in less than 5 minutes. I’ve learned that dried whipped cream smells terrible. I’ve learned that sports decreases attendance at meetings. I’ve learned how to talk in front of large crowds. I’ve learned that taking care of around 100 Key Clubbers is definitely no joke. I’ve learned how to provide volunteer opportunities every week for you guys. I’ve learned that I can’t do everything, and that’s okay. I’ve learned that nothing will go how I plan, and that’s okay. I’ve learned that I can’t please everybody, and that’s okay. I’ve learned that I can’t be the perfect president I want to be for you all, and that, too, is okay. I’ve learned how to care and serve unconditionally. But most importantly, I’ve learned how awesome LHS KC really is. We may not be richest kids on the block, but we’re definitely one of the most caring, most active, most dedicated, and most enthusiastic Key Clubbers out there. You’ve all have been the best Key Clubbers any president can ask for, and I hope you all will keep up the LHS Key Clubber legacy that has been born. :) I love and appreciate you all! See you at DCON as your new LtG! <3 Yours always in Caring, Love, Friendship, and Service Morgan Lucena 2013-2014 LHS Key Club President

BY JUSTIN DANAO In the month of January, February, and March we had many great and fun events! We had the Evergreen Garland Take Down where we took down garlands from the light poles throughout Downtown Renton. We also had the Renton Park Tutoring sessions where we taught first and second graders basic math after every weekly meeting. We had the Garden of Goo event once a month where we transplanted and maintained the nursery stock. In January we also had the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service at the Kent Lions Skate Park where a few of our Key Clubbers picked up litter nearby the park and roads. On the 25th, there was the 2014 Division 32 Lieutenant Governor Election Rally & January DCM at the Kent Library, where we played ice breakers and Morgan Lucena (our current President) was elected to be our incoming Lieutenant Governor of Division 32!! In March we had the Spring Into Action III/IV event where we had different squads did certain tasks like mix soil and pot/cut plants. We also had the March DCM: Pre-DCON Prep and Potluck where we learned new cheers for DCON, made posters and hug me signs, distributed spirit gear, and shared food with other clubs in our division! Don’t miss out on the fun, so check out the upcoming events and come!

BY LISA LAI DCON is on April 4-6 and will be held in the convention center in Seattle. This three day convention is going to be full with excitement as we get to explore different workshops, meet new people, and attend a dance on Saturday night. As a club, we are working on the nontraditional scrapbook and we took a play on Super Mario. We made a Game Cube, and each sides represents something different relating back to key Club. We hope to win the scrapbook award this year! Dcon in Tminus two days, let’s go! its DCON DCON, gotta get down to DCON, everybody’s lookin’ fowrad to the weekend, weeknd. Partyin’, partyin’ yeah! Who’s ready for Dcon? I know we are!

BY JESSICA TIAMZON Hi guys! :) I had a wonderful term being your treasurer even though there were many obstacles with ASB. This year we raised $426.36 for the Eliminate Project. We can help 237 mothers and their children from maternal/neonatal tetanus! I want to thank everyone that donated to the Happy Sad coins jar, it was nice hearing about the happy or bad things that happened within your guys' days. We recently had spirit wear for our club. They were hoodies with a key hole. The hoodies were $25 without the name on the back and $28 with a name on the back. We raised around $60 dollars for our club!

BY JENNY ZHANG Welcome to Derps of the Year. First and foremost, I truly apologize. I know I promised many of you that I would never release bad photos of you. But, you know, whatever. It may be new for you to bask in the ugly side of Key Club, but EVERY. DAY. I see these pictures on my computer. You have no idea how many times I've stopped what I was doing to just look at these pictures. They make my life so much better (especially that one up there of Efrain in the hat. Mmmm.) And since Key Club is about caring, I thought I'd make your life so much better too. These are not all of them. I tried to include as many people as I could find. You see, there are a few people that I do not have many photos of, sadly, and if I do, they're pretty cute. But there are also the people that I take photos of all the time and they're never bad ever (you know who you are) (Megan, Roxanne, Justin...). I don't know if it's because you are just constantly posing or what. But I will make sure my innie, Kenji, will get my revenge. Follow your dreams, beautiful people!
