The Virtues of Forgiveness ΕΎϳγ ϥϣϭ Ύϧγϔϧ έϭέη ϥϣ ͿΎΑ Ϋϭόϧϭ ˬ Ϫϳϟ· ΏϭΗϧϭ ϩέϔϐΗγϧϭ ˬ ϪϧϳόΗγϧϭ ˬ ϩΩϣΣϧ Ϳ ΩϣΣϟ ϻ ϩΩΣϭ ௌ ϻ· Ϫϟ· ϻ ϥ ΩϬηϭ ˬϪϟ ϱΩΎϫ ϼϓ ϝϠοϳ ϥϣϭ ˬ Ϫϟ ϝοϣ ϼϓ ௌ ϩΩϬϳ ϥϣ ˬΎϧϟΎϣϋ ϥϣϭ ϥϳόϣΟ ϪΑΣλϭ Ϫϟ ϰϠϋϭ ϪϳϠϋ ௌ ϰϠλ Ϫϟϭγέϭ ϩΩΑϋ ΩϣΣϣ ϥ ΩϬηϭ ˬϪϟ ϙϳέη .ϥϳΩϟ ϡϭϳ ϰϟ· ϥΎγΣΈΑ ϡϬόΑΗ :ΩόΑ Ύϣ .ϥϳέΧϵϭ ϥϳϟϭϷ ϲϓ ϪΗϳλϭ ϲϫ ௌ ϯϭϘΗ ϥΈϓ ˬ ϪΗΎϘΗ ϕΣ ௌ ϭϘΗ ˬ ௌ ΩΎΑϋ :ϰϟΎόΗϭ ϪϧΎΣΑγ ௌ ϝΎϗ ΩϘϓ (˺˹˻:ϥέϣϋ ϝ Γέϭγ) ".ϥϭ˵ ˴ ϣ˶Ϡ ˸γ͊ϣ ϡ˸ Η˵ ϧ˸ ˴ϭ˴ ͉ϻ˶· ͉ϥΗ˵ ϭ˵ϣΗ˴ ˴ϻϭ˴ Ϫ˶ Η˶ ΎϘ˴ Η˵ ϕ͉ Σ˴ ͿԼ ˴ Ϋ͉ϟԼ ΎϬ˴ ϳ͊ ˴ ΄ϳԻ " ˴ ͉ ˸ ϭ˵ϘΗ͉ Լ ˸ ϭϧ˵ ϣ˴ ϥϳ˶ All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him and we seek help from Him. We ask forgiveness from Him. We repent to Him; to Him and we seek refuge from our own misdeeds and evil dictation. Anyone who is guided by Allah, he is indeed guided; and anyone who has been left astray, will find no one to guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Alláh, the Only One without any partner; and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant, and His Messenger. May the peace and blessings of Allah, be upon him, his family, his companions and everyone who follows in their footsteps until the day of resurrection. Servants of Allah fear as He should be feared. Indeed Taqwa (to fear Allah) is Alláh’s advice to first and last man on earth. He said in the Holy Qur’an:
(˺˹˻:ϥέϣϋ ϝ Γέϭγ ) "ϥϭϣϠγϣ ϡΗϧϭ ϻ· ϥΗϭϣΗ ϻϭ ϪΗΎϘΗ ϕΣ ௌ ϭϘΗ ϭϧϣ ϥϳΫϟ ΎϬϳ΄ϳ" “O you who believe! Fear Allâh (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islâm (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allâh.” (3:102) Allah said in the Holy Qur'an:
έϳΛϛ ϻΎΟέ ΎϣϬϧϣ ΙΑϭ ΎϬΟϭί ΎϬϧϣ ϕϠΧϭ ΓΩΣϭ αϔϧ ϥϣ ϡϛϘϠΧ ϱΫϟ ϡϛΑέ ϭϘΗ αΎϧϟ ΎϬϳ΄ϳ" ( ˺: ˯Ύγϧϟ)"ΎΑϳϗέ ϡϛϳϠϋ ϥΎϛ ௌ ϥ· ϡΎΣέϷϭ ϪΑ ϥϭϟ˯ΎγΗ ϱΫϟ ௌ ϭϘΗϭ ˯Ύγϧϭ “O mankind! fear your guardian Lord, who created you from a single person, created, out of it, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women; -Fear Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and be heedful of the wombs (the mothers that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.” (4:1) 132 | Selected Khutba: A Guide to Social Development for the Muslim Communities in the Philippines
