About LexFUN
About: LexFUN! is a diverse community of parents with preschool-aged children and younger, and some older, serving the Lexington and surrounding area. Founded in 1942, LexFUN! is one of the largest volunteer-run parent organizations in Massachusetts providing social, educational and community events and activities. LexFUN! is a non-profit and a recognized MA PTA. LexFUN! also maintains its own charitable fund, the LexFUND! Community fund, supporting local families in need in times of crisis, granting Preschool Scholarships and other community initiatives.

100% volunteer-driven, everything we offer is due to our incredible board of volunteers, who give up their time to dedicate to the enrichment of families in Lexington and surrounding communities. LexFUN! is ever-grateful to our generous sponsors and community partners, enabling us to continue the long-running efforts of the organization in connecting families with babies, toddlers and preschoolers, laying a foundation for parents and their children alike in the early childhood years.
Mission: To enrich the lives of families with young children in and around Lexington and to provide support for our members and the communities we serve.
Vision: To foster a community of parents with babies, toddlers and preschoolers, by hosting a wide-range of family, social, child-focused and community events. Supporting parents by offering playgroup connections, Kindergarten Connection to ease the transition, and to provide information from everything from preschools to local happenings. Also, to introduce preschoolers to the Lexington community service initiatives; learning the importance of fundraising, supporting charitable causes and more!
How long has LexFUN! been around?
LexFUN! was formed in 1942 as the “Lexington Preschool Association.” In 2014, the official name was changed to “Lexington’s Five and Under Network PTA, Inc.” although it still goes by, “LexFUN!”. LexFUN! remains as a unit of the MA PTA but is not affiliated with any public or private preschool.

Every spring, LexFUN! holds its Children’s & Maternity Consignment Sale to raise money for the LexFUND! Community Fund. LexFUND! supports local families in-need by providing monetary donations to assist in times of personal crisis, as well as local preschool scholarships. Recognized by Boston Parents Paper as one of the top 5 consignment sales in Massachusetts, shoppers come from near and far to buy gently-used, high-quality maternity and children’s clothing (0-12 years), toys, bikes, strollers, baby gear and more!
