October...the change of seasons, holidays approaching, and the time to plan for 2022.

When planning here are a few areas to consider.

•T he single biggest challenge facing employers now and in the future is their people. Organizations are struggling to attract and retain workers as evidenced by the “Great Resignation”, which is expected to continue into 2022. Identify the reasons why employees are leaving and address these issues in your business plans for a competitive advantage.

•T he implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs is gaining traction. This is a critical area that you should strongly consider in your plans due to the impact it can have, including new hires, existing employees, clients, and your community, brand awareness. •B usiness leaders should take inventory of the upskilling opportunities offered to employees, not only from a succession planning perspective but also from an employee attraction and retention angle. •T he business world quickly realized how important technology is to ongoing operations after witnessing the Zoom boom. You should include any technology upgrades or new installations necessary to remain current and competitive. Remember we are here to support you and look forward to seeing you soon. Until then...much love Desiree Doubrox

B

orn and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Eileen received a Bache-

lor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University, attended the Master’s in Electrical Engineering at USC, and then Rider University, where she completed an MBA in Marketing and Economics, all while working full-time in the aerospace industry specializing in satellite guidance systems. She was the lead engineer, director of marketing, and the only female working on several projects and technology standards bodies. In San Diego, Eileen was the first to introduce Fiber optics to the PC industry and how to utilize the technology in semiconductors. Eileen had the wheels of real estate spinning since graduating. Rather than purchase her first home with $60,000, she bought land, hired a general contractor, and built 5 apartment homes.

“ If it can be done...I can do it!”

This expanded to 32 units, through a 1031 exchange, and then to 167 rental apartment homes. In 2010, Eileen began to focus full-time on Residential Rental Real Estate and her property management company. She has added 40 more industrial apartment homes, and her largest project, Whispering Oak, featuring 98 apartments, is scheduled to be completed in March 2022. Her community work includes the Burrito Boyz and Girls, and the San Diego Food Pantry. Eileen likes to focus on golf and is an avid cyclist, completing ‘century’ (100 miles) bike rides including the San Diego Century, Bike the Coast, and Tour de Palm Springs. 9
