PINCH ME...Tell me it isn’t so! We are in the third quarter of 2021 and there are a few programs, products, and services we have successfully launched. Yeahhhhhh! AND a few we have yet to launch.

I’m hoping you can relate since it always starts with optimism and good intentions. In any event, we do have options: 1. Evaluate what is currently working and not working. If it’s working well, perhaps you won’t need to do anything more. Just nurture and maximize that opportunity. If it’s not... shut it down so you can spend more time and resources on something new. 2. Determine what you can still accomplish before year-end. Is this product, program, or service still relevant, can it generate the desired revenue, do you have the team and resources to pull it off, or should you schedule it for 2022. 3. Go for it with your all! Make it happen! You may have to sacrifice some late nights or weekends, hire some experienced talent, or spend a few dollars. But if you and/or bank account will feel better. JUST DO IT! Remember we’re here to support you every step of the way. With Love and Blessings, Desiree Doubrox

Ecola Termite and Pest Control

E “

ach of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10 NIV)

As a motivational speaker Sue Fries shares her life experiences as a mother struggling to care for a young son that battled with chronic asthma and also as a Christian business woman in a male dominated pest control industry. Susan has been hosting a syndicated radio show since 2010 on the Salem radio network dedicated to inspiring and encouraging people. Every week Sue hosts interesting guest speakers from all walks of life. Ms. Fries is an avid competitive dancer; She took 5th place in the U.S. Open Swing Dance Competition and also won a national American Bandstand competition in 1978. Suffering a horseback-riding accident that shattered her leg, Sue miraculously is not only walking but able to dance competitively again. As an accomplished author, Sue’s book Learning to Breath focuses on the importance of managing your indoor air quality and as a result, received an honorable mention in the San Francisco Book Festival of 2014. She is also co-author of The Change. From there Ecola Termite and Pest Control were born. Susan takes pride in her accomplishments: winner of the Los Angeles Daily News BEST termite and pest control company 2014 and 2018, recipient of the 2012 and 2018 Angie’s List Super Service Award, Best Green Exterminator from 2007-2018 by LA Magazine; 2010 Woman In Business award by Business Journal, and Business Owner of the Year by the United Chamber of Commerce; and being featured on the History Channel’s Modern Marvels, KTLA News Channel and KCAL9, to name a few.

K Negotiating THE ART OF

Compliments of Barbara Bickham, Founder & Managing Partner | Women’s Innovation Fund Accelerator Founder & CTO | Trailyn Ventures

ehether you realize it or not, you negotiate every day. You negotiate with yourself, your partner, your children, co-workers, boss, friends, family, and with clients, customers, and in other business dealings. Just a little work in this area can pay off in a big way. Use these tips to get what you deserve by boosting your negotiating skills: Be clear on what you need and want. Identify your needs prior to the negotiation. Shoot for what you want but be prepared to back down to what you need if necessary.

Use silence as a tool when necessary. In many cases, the first person to give in and break an uncomfortable silence puts themself into a compromised position. Be prepared for a negotiation like you would any other important event. Understand the other party, their strengths and weaknesses. Become an expert on the situation. It’s rarely excusable to be surprised during the negotiation process. It’s simply a sign that you weren’t prepared. Let go of your ego. Focus on getting what you need. If you have to swallow your pride in order to achieve a win, so be it. You’ll survive. Be willing to walk away from any negotiation. This isn’t always possible, but it’s beneficial to try to identify other possible solutions before you begin any negotiation. Stay calm. If you feel your emotions getting the upper hand, take a few slow, deep breaths.

Try to find a solution that satisfies both of your needs. If you “win” the negotiation, but the other party fails to get what they need, you’ve potentially created an enemy.

Go for the Win! Practice each day with your friends and family. As you can see, there are many opportunities each day to negotiate with others and get more of what you want!
