Enlightened Restaurant and Bar looks deeper into the spiritual and ceremonial importance of elephants. It will tell the story of how elephants became symbolic and important to Buddhism Guests will experience how the natural behavior and tendencies of the elephant provides spiritual guidance that is important for Monks to observe. Elephants are symbolic because they have a connection to the story Buddha’s mother. On the eve of Buddha’s birthday, his mother had a dream that she was given a lotus flowers by a white elephant. Elephants embody the power and an earthly manifestation of the qualities of Buddha. Their patient mind and gentle demeanor evokes the “light of knowledge.” Enlightenment is part of the 4 Noble truths of Buddhism, and enlightenment helped Buddha to understand the meaning behind the physical world.
