e had many different activities during the first half of the year. Our members appreciate and attend the conferences regularly. On February 21, Jean-Hyacinthe de Mitry moderated a panel of three speakers: Christian Nouel (Gide), Alfred de Lassence(Air Liquide) and Thierry Louzier(PwC). They discussed, "Consequences of the new French Finances Law on Licensing."
Clemens Heusch (Nokia) to present their experiences with IP infringements and counterfeiting in China from a company point of view. It was followed by the new measures put in place in China. This was presented by Christine Yiu (Bird&Bird Shanghai) on March 19.

The Life Sciences Committee headed by Michel Sestier, along with Alain Herrera (oncology consultant) organised a conference on March 12 entitled, "Europe/Asia partnerships: How to build a successful deal, challenges to overcome." Didier Landais (Servier), Jean-Pierre Armand (consultant), Grace Yeh (Pharma Engine Taiwan), Frédéric Scaerou (Ipsen), Eric Falcand (Servier) and Liya Ju (Preci Med Platform China) presented their experiences in Asia and Europe. The round table moderated by Alain Herrera encouraged the speakers to give precise recommendations. A networking event for our young members, organized by Anne-Celine Truchot-Bothner, took place on April 4. Sophie Pasquier (Philips) was the guest and speaker. A webinar on Blockchain technology was held on June 3. It was led by Albert Anstett and Christophe Lemée. After giving basic background, the very useful presentation by Albert and Christophe gave examples of some practical applications. A conference held June 18 on Artificial Intelligence entitled,"Open Source and Protection," was organized by Antoine Dupont. It gave the opportunity for attendees to listen to experts in the area, they were Laurent Didier (CEA Tech) and Alexandre Gramfort(INRIA). Then IP information was presented by Olivier Nicolle (IPON Global), Matthieu Dhenne (Dhenne-Avocats), Johanna Roquet(Université Toulouse) and Anna Cluzeau (Icosa Medtech). The round table was led by Regine Poret (Technicolor) and gave a chance to see how companies of all sizes use and protect IA and their applications. Panelists included Eleonore Dupont (Suez), Emmanuel Miconnet (Thales), Olivier Thirard (Orange), Claire Le Floch(Atos) and Jean-François Goudou (Meero). In parallel our Life Sciences Committees, IPV, Software and Public (Universities, CNRS, SATT)and private companies are organizing meetings to study the new laws or regulations and prepare conferences or documents for proposing better methods for negotiations and transactions. ■
