Leonel Muniz

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Leonel Muniz lives in Brasília-DF, Brazil, since the age of ten draws and paints models for his seamstress mother. Currently, with academic background in computing and visual arts, develops contemporary works using electronic materials and discarded books, mixed in paintings with reference to pixel art and stencil art. The composition of his works holds the visitor in the various exhibitions, nationally and internationally. Leonel Muniz reports that “When positioning yourself in front of a work of art you need to think and even touch, feel the flow and the elements of the composition. For, I understand that painting must express feelings, and may bring benefits to those who admire and even cure diseases. For me, the good painting must, besides being painted, bring the soul of the author. We need to offer the viewer a dialogue between the real and the imaginary, travel within it and relax the neurons. "
