WELCOME

From the President of Lenoir Community College Dear Patrons of the Arts,

Dr. Rusty Hunt

Welcome to Lenoir Community College and to this exciting production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas The Musical. It takes a village to bring so much talent to a stage, and we are so thrilled that you are a part of it. Your attendance not only supports our fine arts programs, but it also supports our students through the College’s Foundation scholarship program. Thank you for assisting our students in bringing their educational dreams to life. We have many opportunities throughout the year where you can be involved. Our community is stronger because of your generosity.

Thank you to our very own faculty and staff and to the community actors and actresses who have brought Irving Berlin’s White Christmas The Musical to life on stage tonight. Their dedication and talent have provided us with an evening that reminds us of the importance of love, friendship, and the spirit of giving, especially during the holiday season. Again, welcome to Lenoir Community College. I hope to see you throughout the year as your support is appreciated. Sincerely,

President, Lenoir Community College

WELCOME

From the Executive Director of the LCC Foundation Dear valued donors and community members,

Mrs. Jeanne Kennedy

We are honored and privileged to have been a small part of the exceptional production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas The Musical. It is through the generous contributions of individuals like you that we are able to offer cultural opportunities to students and enhance the Lenoir Community College Foundation Scholarship Program. We firmly believe that the arts are vital to the quality of life in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties and we could not have achieved this without your unwavering support.

We appreciate the efforts you have made towards increasing our scholarship funds for our students, as many individuals in our area are not able to afford a college education. It is through scholarships that students are given the opportunity to gain an education that shapes their critical thinking proficiencies, creativity, interpersonal skills, sense of social responsibility, and earning potential. Your continued support has made all the difference in enabling us to carry forward this mission, and for that, we extend our deepest gratitude. We ask that, if you desire to help a student gain an education or to support the Fine Arts Department, please feel free to reach out to us at 252-233-6812. With the talent on display at Lenoir Community College and within our community, as well as your invaluable support, we are confident that we can continue to provide access to educational opportunities and enrich the cultural experience of all those in our communities. Again, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our donors and community members for the dedication and encouragement they have shown us. Please enjoy the show and rest assured that you have made a lasting and positive impact on the lives of many deserving students. Sincerely,

Executive Director, Lenoir Community College Foundation

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, a heartwarming and inclusive experience that transcends its apparent innocence. This production delves deep into the themes of community and the ties that bind us all together. In a world where individuals too often prioritize self-interest, our characters remind us of the importance of our connections and responsibilities to those around us. Through the army, show business, running an inn together, and the power of friendship and sisterhood, the characters of White Jessica Cruz Christmas build meaningful relationships. They teach us that true fulfillment and meaning are found by embracing change, pursuing our passions, and opening ourselves up to love. As we journey through the story, we witness the transformative power of generosity in the lives of these characters. Their commitment to others, to the spirit of Christmas, and to a world founded on compassion and selflessness serves as an inspiration for us all. White Christmas invites us to reexamine our priorities and embrace a mindset in which we are for others, not just for ourselves. Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with heartwarming moments and a reminder of the connections that make us whole. White Christmas is a celebration of the human spirit and a call to find fulfillment through community, generosity, and love. Prepare to be moved as our talented cast brings this remarkable story to life, inviting us all to experience the transformative power of joy, love, and purpose in our lives. Grace and Peace,

We would like to thank all our active duty and former military personnel for their service to our country. Out of respect for the uniform and medals you earned, we will not present an authentic uniform on the stage of this show, as we have not earned the privilege of wearing it.

My name is Art, and I am playing Bob Wallace in White Christmas The Musical. I would like to introduce you to my mother, Nancy Rimbert, who was one of the most significant influences of my life. It was from her that I first learned the love of music and singing as she stood beside me in church singing harmony. During my first ever solo, it was her face that my anxious wandering eyes sought for reassurance, and it was under her tutelage that I learned to read, write, speak, and even to act during our many small school and churchplays. She taught me so many things including how to sew and how to bake. But most importantly, she taught me love and kindness. Through almost 50 years working tirelessly at the same school, teaching students, training staff, and mentoring fellow teachers including me, she demonstrated what it was like to be dedicated, patient, and loving. Because of her love and dedication to her family and her students, I would like to dedicate this page and this performance to her.

Micham and McSwain CPAs would like to wish the entire cast, the director, all the musicians, the backstage crew, and the team of tech staff the very best of luck! All your hours of work are a labor of love and are greatly appreciated! 15
