The Marana Community Food Bank distributes emergency food assistance to more than 2,400 families every month. Within these families there are 1,850 children and more than 1,400 seniors – in other words, the most vulnerable among us. All donations of food and financial assistance remain in Marana. Every dollar donated represents four meals and Charity Navigator has given the food bank a rating of 69.25 points out of a total possible score of 70 points. Most needed food items are peanut butter, cereal, skillet meals, canned vegetables and fruit. No glass containers please. If you would like to donate, please find the collection boxes located at The Sports Club and next to the ice and water machine in the Cart Staging area.
Nine Hole Ladies League Please join us on Tuesday afternoons! We meet at the practice facility about 2:30 to warm up and then play at 3pm. If you do not have a handicap – it is ok! You can sign up by going to the Members Only site and clicking on Events or just contact the Golf Shop directly. This week Vanessa Baker from the Golf Shop will be your host! Please look for her on the practice tee, and if your schedule allows please join us in the restaurant after golf for a little Happy Hour time! As we work to build our group we want to remind everyone that we do not require a big commitment - If it happens that you can only play with us one Tuesday a month – that is ok! We just want you to have fun, play a little golf and meet new people! As a reminder, this summer the club is closed on Tuesdays, so we’ll play on Wednesday mornings from June thru August. We’ll go out at 9 or 9:30 and then come in for a cool drink afterwards. I hope you can join us one day soon! Jenny

Summer Cart Program In an effort to provide a savings opportunity for our summer residents similar to that for our seasonal residents, we will now offer a Golf Car Program for the summer months. By registering for this program, you will no longer have to pay cart fees every time you use a cart…you will have unlimited use of the golf cart, plus it includes a push cart if you choose to walk. This will run from May 1, 2014 thru October 31, 2014 and the cost is $1,150 for Family and $770 for Single. Please notify the Golf Shop if you would like to be a part of this new program.
New Short Game Practice Area Planned To further enhance our member experience, we began construction on a new 1 acre short game practice area last week. The goal of the new complex is to provide our members an area to practice all of their short game shots. The new practice facility will have a 7,500 square foot practice green, 2 green-side bunkers, and plenty of turf areas to hit every shot in your bag. We will be completing a majority of the project “in-house” and we expect construction to take the next few months. Our goal is to seed the bent grass green later this summer and to have the facility ready to open for practicing by Thanksgiving. We will post updated photos to keep everyone posted on our progress.

Troon PrivĂŠ
Golf members at Troon PrivĂŠ clubs have the privilege to play at other private clubs for the host clubs cart fee rate. Also, members are entitled to bring up to three guests that will play for the host clubs accompanied rates. Each golfer can play up to (6) rounds at any given facility in one calendar year. (This benefit is limited to (3) visits for clubs in same geographic market). Rounds are subject to the host clubs advance booking policy for unaccompanied guest/reciprocal play.

Troon Summer Series We are happy to announce a Summer Troon Travel Series! We will have 4 dates this summer, where we have prearranged golf to have some fun away from The Gallery! A member of the Golf Professional Staff will be accompanying each group, and to facilitate any games that may take place. But, we need at least 24 people to sign up for each date, and 30 days in advance. We will send out a reminder email, so let us know if you would like to play!
