Around the Club Noteworthy News Gallery Members take their golf seriously, and fun even more seriously! Jack Hareland put together three pure shots for an eagle on #11 North Course Leal Roberts also recorded an eagle on #7 of the South by driving the green and sinking a 30 foot putt Bob Huff caught fire on the North Course ending his round with birdies on 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18...five straight birdies!
Miles Weigold Loves Privé Here is a photo taken @ Baywood Greens Golf Course in Long Neck, DE. This shot of the bridge from the 18th tee over the lake to the fairway. As you can see, the landscaping @ this course is absolutely magnificent. I refer to it as Augusta North. Have also played the two Troon courses nearby, Bayside in Selbyville, DE and The Peninsula in Millsboro, DE. Both great courses and quite challenging. I’ve found that the humidity (average about 80% UGH) takes a lot of distance off the ball. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it. Love the Privé program and encourage everyone to give it a try. Golf 2013 Gallery Par 3 Shootout This summer, we are starting a new and fun event! A Par 3 Contest! Every Thursday, a member of the Golf Professional staff will create a 9 Hole Par 3 Contest!! For example, the Front 9 of the North Course will become all par 3’s! The member of the Professional staff who creates the Tournament Course will also be out there to play with you! There will be a Men’s Tee and a Women’s Tee on each hole. Each player will receive 75% of the 9 Hole course handicap. The Cost of the event is $10 and that money will be returned to the players in Credit Book through Closest to the Hole contests, Low Gross and Low Net for Men and Women. August 15th @ 4:00 p.m. August 22nd @ 4:00 p.m. August 29th @ 4:00 p.m. September 5th @ 4:00 p.m. September 19th @ 4:00 p.m. – Tournament of Champions

The Rev Baker Air Force Am is being held in honor of fallen servicemen/women and to support the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Proceeds from this memorial golf event will benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation for Patriot Golf Day. This foundation serves to provide the families of fallen servicemen and women with secondary educational benefits that they may not have received otherwise. Please visit www.foldsofhonor.org for more information on the foundation and how you can help! Support the Folds of Honor by sponsoring a hole on the course for the event. A finely-appointed sign displaying your name or your organization’s name will be placed on a chosen green/tee clearly visible for all players and participants to view as they play their round of golf. Instructors on the MOVE!
We are very proud of our group fitness instructors and trainers. They continue their education which ultimately gives you, the member, a better experience here at the Sports Club. Melissa Miles who teaches three classes per week and does personal training, will be going to Florida this Thursday through Sunday to attend the Orlando, Florida group fitness conference for Les Mills International. Melissa is a certified instructor for Les Mills International in five various programs and also assesses other instructors to see if they are good enough to become certified. She is an Elite Instructor in BODYPUMP, which means she is one of the best instructors in the world for this program. Melissa will be joining them on stage during this Mega quarterly conference. She will also take an additional training class with a Master Yoga instructor on her journey to becoming an Elite instructor for their program entitled BODYFLOW!
