Inverleigh Public Hall Book Bazaar postponed to 2024

Thanks so much to everyone who has been saving books for our annual Book Bazar BUT we have to postpone our 2023 Book Bazaar.

We will be back in full strength in 2024, so if you can store your books for us, that would be wonderful.

In the meantime, we will be working towards proper storage at the hall for all those books people so kindly donate.

Inverleigh Public Hall Committee 0403 267 286

Thanks to:

Ross & Caroline Wilson of Shelford and Mora Leach of Inverleigh for faithfully supplying the monthly rainfall figures. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

Golden Pens Write side up

G’Day from the penners for the first edition of 2023. We hope that everyone is fit and well.

This year we will be concentrating more on the writings of our members and less on me blabbing on, if you like any of the articles that you read here, please send us an email at goldenpens4@gmail.com and lets us know. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. The first poem for 2023 is from me, Wendy, and we hope you like it.

Spare Time

Who has enough! I hear them shout. While rushing there and here about, Not enough time to think, they yell, Oh, give me a break, I need a spell. Kids and work take all my time, There’s nothing left, none of mine. It’s just rush and rush all day, I’ve had enough! I hear them say. Oh, to have some time to spare, It’s not asking too much, let’s be fair, One minute or two is all I ask’ One less job, one less task.

I can’t think anymore, I’m all worn out. There are things I can’t do; I need to flout. When does it stop, this mad chase of time? When does the time become all mine? Stop and think, you don’t need to do all, Just have a thought, you don’t need to fall.

Spare time, like busyness is all your own making, You need to stop; you need to stop faking! Make yourself time, and make it spare, Throw away the jobs, and get some fresh air. You only have one life, so make it last, Slow down your life before it’s all past!
