Why an Irish Pub? “Why not?”

The design and architecture team spent five days in Dublin researching Irish Pubs. From the fabric and tile flooring to the black walnut bar top, exterior windows, ornate pillars, and the distressed metal, designed to appear weathered from 150 years of rain. You’ll feel its authenticity the moment you walk in—it’ll transport you to Ireland.

Rainy Day Pastime— put on an old movie and be transported back in time. The Lakeland first opened in 1948. This intersection was also the location of the Okoboji Speed Bowl, a stock car race track, which opened in 1952. The stock car and midget racer track closed in 1958. Although there were a few attempts to bring other racing there, it never formally reopened. The Lakeland Drive In closed in 1991.
