Il s'agissait alors de créer un réseau d'avocats assurant la postulation locale et intervenant de façon coordonnée au plan national pour une clientèle institutionnelle. Aujourd'hui, fort de plus de 250 cabinets français indépendants et d'une cinquantaine de cabinets répartis principalement dans l'Union Européenne mais également dans le monde entier, GESICA représente un chiffre d'affaires consolidé de l'ordre de 1.700 millions de francs (260 millions d'Euros) et un effectif global de plus de 2.600 personnes. En FRANCE, sur PARIS, les correspondants GESICA sont spécialisés par matière et constituent le panel le plus prestigieux d'auteurs pour les différentes activités dominantes, groupant ainsi des signatures dont la GAZETTE DU PALAIS est le principal vecteur. En province, alors que des regroupements régionaux sont en cours, GESICA conserve ses spécificités : postulation, clientèle institutionnelle et formation. GESICA a toujours mis l'accent sur la qualité de la communication entre ses membres, gage d'efficacité. Le site de GESICA sur INTERNET (http://www.gesica. org) présente une information constamment mise à jour sur les activités actuelles du réseau. En outre, chaque année GESICA organise, à l'occasion de son congrès, un débat sur un sujet d'actualité. Ainsi GESICA souhaite-t-il contribuer à une réflexion sur les thèmes majeurs de la société contemporaine. GESICA est devenu au fil du temps un groupement réunissant une compétence unique en Europe et petit à petit dans le monde entier, qu'il s'agisse d'engager une procédure, de prodiguer un conseil ou de mobiliser une assistance juridique, chaque avocat appartenant au réseau GESICA peut recourir à tout moment au soutien de correspondants spécialisés.
