Cole Melgar
Hi my name is Cole Melgar and I am one of the Area 1 JABGA Directors. I currently live in Oregon City, OR on a 10 acre goat farm. I am 18 years old and this is my second year on the Board of Directors serving a 2 year term. In my spare time when I’m not working on the farm or at work I like to spend as much time as I can on the lake fishing. I have been raising goats for close to 9 years now and enjoy every minute of it. I would like to learn more about the breed and share my knowledge with others who have questions.
Mikayla Wetherell
Hello, my name is Mikayla Wetherell and I am 18 years old. I am a freshman at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois working towards getting my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am a returning JABGA director and this is my third year representing Area 2. I have been raising and showing fullblood boer goats with my family for the past eleven years. Throughout high school, I was an active member and an active participant in 4-H, 4-H Federation, FFA, and the Illinois Meat Goat Producers. Last year, I served as the Illinois Meat Goat Producers Ambassador and was proud to represent the industry at state wide ABGA shows. I look forward to meeting new people, growing our youth program with new opportunities, and growing in an industry that I have been involved in and passionate about on the local, regional, and national level.
