Poster Nieuwe aanwinsten’54/’56 (New Acquisitions), 1956, silkscreen, 99 x 69. The basic elements are a large N, an A and a plus sign.

Poster Vijftig jaar Oostenrijkse kunst (Fifty Years of Austrian Art), 1956, silk-screen, 88 x 60. The large form in the middle stands for the number 50, three abstract forms joined together in three different colours. Later, Crouwel regretted having put the text bottom right in italics: ‘It falls apart. It is badly spaced … It had nothing to do with the colours of Austria. It was just for my own pleasure.’ [Broos 2003, p. 32] On the left a catalogue cover with the Van Abbe Museum sign.
