Helping You Navigate Microsoft Certification Changes to Role-Based Microsoft is in the process of retiring the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Solutions Developer (MCSD), and Solutions Expert(MCSE) certifications. The deadline has been extended to 31 January 2021.
Frequently Asked Questions about Retiring of MCSA, MCSD & MCSE Certifications What happens to the MCSA, MCSD, and MCSE certifications that I already have?
You’re retiring exams that lead to the MCSA, MCSD, and MCSE certification(s) that I am pursuing. What should I do?
Nothing happens to the MCSA, MCSD, and MCSE certification that you already have; they remain on your Microsoft certification transcript. The relevance of those certifications depends on your current (and future) job roles and how valuable that certification is to your manager and organisation, and to the work that you do.
Before the exams expire, you must pass all required exams which are a part of the MCSA, MCSD, or MCSE certification(s) that you are trying to achieve. If you pass the required exams before they expire, you will earn the certification and it will appear on your certification transcript.
Can I still achieve the MCSA, MCSD, and MCSE certifications before they retire on 31 January 2021? Yes, you can continue earning the MCSA, MCSD, and MCSE certifications as long as the required exams are still available. As we retire the exams that are part of those certification paths, you will no longer be able to earn those certifications.
My exam voucher is set to expire — what should I do? If you have a Pearson VUE certification exam voucher that is expiring between 26 March and 31 August 2020, it will be extended until 31 January 2021.
