Why Our Body Needs Vitamin D? To regulate the calcium and phosphorous minerals found in the body, vitamin D is required. In maintaining the proper bone structure, it also plays an important role. Sun exposure is a simple and reliable way of getting vitamin D for most people. Exposure to the sun 2-3 times per week of hands, face, arms and legs about a quarter of the time that a mild sunburn would take will lead to the skin producing enough vitamin D. Exposure time is different depending on age, type of skin, season, daytime, etc. Without a sunscreen only 6 days of casual exposure to sunlight are 49 days without exposure to sunlight. Body fat acts as a sort of vitamin D storage battery.

Side effects of Vitamin D Vitamin D is when taken or taken in recommended amounts as a shot into the muscle. Mainly, vitamin D doesn't have side effects unless too much is taken. Weakness, fatigue, sleepiness, headache, loss of appetite, metallic taste, vomiting, and many more are side effects of taking too much D. Vitamin D is POSSIBLY UNSAFE and may cause too high blood calcium for long time at doses above 4000 Units every day. In short term treatments of vitamin D deficiency, however, far higher doses are often needed. Such treatment should be conducted by a healthcare provider.

I live in Dubai so that it wasn't the sun or my body that doing a good job about Vitamin D. I have had general body aches and pains for approximately two years. I couldn't walk at night because of the pain in both feet after leaving the bed in the bathroom. My physician has taken blood tests (not Vitamin D) and has sent me to Easy Vitamins. Nothing. Nothing. Finally, I conducted my own web research and asked for a Vitamin D blood test. So what do you do? I was in vitamin D very poor. I also started to have unusual (very painful) pains in my shoulder area around the time of this discovery. Calcium deposits in the tissues were reported by X-rays. My body didn't know what to do with calcium without the Vitamin D that helps absorb calcium. Of course I suffered for about 2 years unnecessarily. I don't understand why not my doctor or the easy vitamin. In one week, my feet all the pain disappeared, but I began taking 2000–4 000 units of vitamin D3 every day.
