H o w d i d y o u b e c o m e i n v o l v e d with Miss Universe Tanzania and how did this experience impact your life? After graduating from college, a good friend of mine urged me to try out for Miss Universe Tanzania. I had no expectations and was participating for fun. I didn’t even think I would make the top 10, let alone win. I only had two weeks to prepare for the worldwide competition where I made the finals and placed sixth overall. When I flew back home, I thought about my friend who saw the potential in me and made the decision to pursue modeling as a career and from there, the rest has been history in the making. It was an epiphany for me and truly the experience that changed the trajectory of my life. What was your vision for creating the Flaviana Matata Foundation and how do you define its mission?
