returns for the 16th annual All-American Country Hoedown in Campbellsburg to present its Antique Tractor show on Saturday and Sunday10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Owners of equipment will be on hand throughout the day to share their hobby and the history of rescue and restoration of their machines. There is no charge for admission but donations are most welcome. A Little Kiddie Tractor Pull will also take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday and new this year is an adult pedal tractor pull at 2 p.m. All tractors are invited to join the parade on Sunday. Kids’ Zone Friday, starting at 6 p.m, children can search for dinosaur eggs in the dinosaur dig, catch a duck at the duck pond or pop a balloon. On Saturday, there will be arts and crafts for all at 5 p.m. in the Kids’ Zone. This will take place next to the Brown/Vernon Firehouse. Starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, behind the water department, there will be the double bungee jump trampoline along with two inflatables to romp on and air brush tattoos for all ages.

Senior Day at the festival is Friday, June 5. The afternoon will start with a delicious meal served to senior citizens at noon at the community center. The meal will be catered by June Greene and her daughter, Suzi. Menu: Roast Pork, Whipped Potatoes, Green Beans, Slaw, Dessert and Beverage. At 1 p.m., then the fun really begins and all will enjoy everybody’s favorite, the magic of Jack Bridwell. The selection of this years’ Senior King and Queen, a cake walk and door prizes will be awarded following magic show. All seniors from all areas are invited to come and share in a good time. The Habitat for Humanity 5K Walk/Run will begin just north of the railroad tracks on Sycamore Street in the front of the Campbellsburg Christian Church building Saturday. The out and back course will take you through beautiful Washington County. Water will be provided at the turnaround in the Hopp Cemetery. Parade is Sunday The 2009 Campbellsburg All-American Country Hoedown Festival Parade will be held on Sunday, June 6. The theme for this year is “Small Town - Big Dreams.” Fire Chief Brian Durham will serve as grand marshal. The parade entries will start registering at 1 p.m. in the parking lot of NetShape Technologies in Campbellsburg. Registration will end at 2:30 p.m. The parade is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Trophy presentation will begin at 4:45 p.m. Trophies will be awarded The categories are: Antique Tractor, Antique Auto, Miscellaneous Float, Pet, Walking Unit, Cycles/4 Wheelers, Ball Team and Horse Unit. There are five categories in the contest with divisions in each for boys and girls. The categories are: 0-3 months, 4-6 months, 7-12 months,13-18 months and 19-24 months. There is one category for twins; 0-9 months and 10-18 months. Judging will be based on the babies’ personalities, not the clothes they will be wearing. Entry fee is $5 and all entrants will receive a prize. For additional information, please call Karen Qualkinbush at 883-4556. We ask that the entry form be completely filled out and presented at time of registration along with entry fee. Entry forms will be available at: Norm’s Bait Shop, National City Bank, and K & E Market in Campbellsburg and at the information booth in the community building during festival hours Friday and Saturday up until time of registration.

Contestants may enter their baked goods and a copy of the recipe between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. at the old bank building on East Oak Street Saturday. Do not put your name on baked goods or the recipe. Categories are Homemade Cakes, Fruit Pies and Cookies. Judging will take place at noon. Contestants should enter a whole pie or cake or one dozen cookies, which will be auctioned Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. following announcement of winners, so be sure to take home a goodie or two. All entries must be in disposable containers covered with clear plastic wrap and must not require refrigeration, for safe handling. No recipe, container or entry will be returned. Cooks of all ages, from all areas are invited to enter the contest. Each contestant may enter only one item in each category, but are welcome to enter all categories.
