Administration I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2015 L.D. Bell Blue Raider Football Season. This is an exciting time for the Blue Raider Football Program. This year’s team is under the leadership of our new head coach, Mr. Mike Glaze. Coach Glaze has a championship pedigree, and he is eager to see just how far he can take the Blue Raiders. Coach Glaze has assembled a strong coaching staff that is a perfect blend of the old and the new. The veterans from last year are steeped in L.D. Bell tradition, and the new coaches are eager to create a legacy of their own. The staff is united in their efforts to ensure that the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders will be as successful as they possibly can be, and that the team will perform at a level of which we will all be proud. In addition to the team, football season provides the opportunity to be entertained by the band, the cheerleaders, the drill team, the gymnasts and more. On any given game night you can observe over 500 kids participating in some form or another. It is a bargain for a great night out. So, as I stated previously, “Welcome to the 2015 L.D. Bell Blue Raider Football Season.” Come out and join us. You will enjoy it.

It is a true honor to be the Head Football coach for the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders. My pledge is to do everything I can to help this program reach its full potential. Each day we talk to our athletes about being “1-0” in everything we do, finishing every task with a “+2” mentality and doing everything at “RaiderSpeed.” Our goal as a coaching staff is to coach with energy and enthusiasm and love and care about our athletes unconditionally. We are extremely excited to see how this mentality carries over not only to on-field success but carries over into life-long success. A “Championship” program is the only goal where our athletes play with total effort and enthusiasm for 48 minutes to provide the community and fans an experience that fosters support. We challenge our fans to match our intensity and enthusiasm in the stands with the energy and enthusiasm on the field! There is a new coaching staff, style of play, offensive and defensive systems and new mentality around this program. Welcome to a new era of L.D. Bell Football, fun and excitement awaits! Mike Brewster

Coach Barnett has 15 years of coaching experience. He is in his 2nd year at Bell. He came from Newman Smith, where he served as offensive coordinator. Before that he coached at Coppell, Irving MacArthur, and Southlake Carroll where he won 3 State Championships. He has coached teams to the 3rd round of the playoffs or further 8 times. He also coaches Soccer and teaches Math. He played football at Midwestern State University. He and his wife Mandi, have two children, Boston and Brooklyn.

Coach Bond is joining the L.D. Bell coaching staff after 7 years of coaching. Coach Bond comes from Lake Travis High School where he spent the previous two seasons as the Cornerback coach. Prior to Lake Travis Coach Bond spent 5 years at Cedar Hill. Coach Bond has coached in the Texas High School playoffs all 7 years he has coached, including a State Championship final at Cedar Hill and a State Semi Finalist at Lake Travis. Coach Bond is a graduate of University of North Texas and served as a volunteer with the strength and conditioning program. Coach Bond and his wife, Brittany were recently married in July.

Coach Brewster has 27 years of experience coaching in the HEB ISD, including 8 years at Hurst Jr. High and 19 years at L.D. Bell. He has coached the Blue Raiders in the Playoffs in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011. He also coaches Track and teaches World History. He was a four year letterman at McMurry University in Abilene. He and his wife Tricia, have two children, Ryan and Kyle.

This will be Coach Carter’s first year at L. D. Bell High School. Coach Carter will be entering his fifth year of teaching and coaching. Prior to coming to L. D. Bell High School Carter spent his first four years teaching and coaching at Bedford Junior High. Coach Carter earned his Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi. Coach Carter is married to his wife Kelly, and they have one son, Harrison

Coach Croy is joining the L.D. Bell coaching staff this year with 12 years of coaching experience. He has spent the last four years as the defensive line coach at Union High School in Tulsa, OK. During his time at Union, they played in three state championship games, winning the state title in 2011. Prior to that Coach Croy spent eight years coaching in Texas with stops at Frisco Centennial High School, Queen City High School, and Huntsville High School. Coach Croy received his bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Southern Methodist University where he was a four year starter for the Mustangs as a defensive lineman, and he earned his Master’s degree from Lamar University in 2013. He is married to his wife Keri Beth, and they have two children – son Drew (4), and daughter Krosby (2).

This will be Coach Eldridge’s first year with the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders. Coach Eldridge will be entering his 9th year of coaching and teaching. Prior to becoming the offensive line coach for the Blue Raiders, Eldridge spent 8 years coaching various positions at Cedar Hill High School including wide receivers and offensive line. Coach Eldridge earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Studies from Tarleton State University in 2007. Coach Eldridge is married to his wife Ashley and they are expecting their first child, Reese, in October.

Coach Howard is entering his 6th year of teaching and coaching. This will be his 4th year to coach at L.D. Bell and he comes to us from Irving MacArthur High School. He also has coaching experience at N.C. State University. Coach Howard is a 2003 graduate of Newman Smith High School, and a 2008 graduate from N.C. State University where he played baseball for the Wolfpack.

This will be Coach Kygar’s 1st year with the Blue Raiders. Coach Kygar will be entering his 9th year of coaching and teaching. Prior to joining the staff at L.D. Bell High School, Kygar spent the previous 3 seasons at Bedford Junior High. Prior to that, Coach Kygar assisted with Linebackers at James Bowie High School, Perryton High School, and Liberal High School. Coach Kygar earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2005 and played baseball for the Aggies. Kygar earned his Teacher’s Certificate from West Texas A&M University. Coach Kygar has been happily together with Brooke and their two dogs.

This will be Coach Walker’s 1st year with the Blue Raiders. Coach Walker will be entering his 15th year of coaching and teaching. Prior to joining the staff at L.D. Bell High School, Walker spent the previous 6 seasons as Offensive Coordinator at both McKinney North High School and Granbury High School. Prior to that, Coach Walker was the Quarterbacks Coach at Highland Park High School, after serving as a secondary coach at Rowlett High School. Coach Walker earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Hardin-Simmons University in 2000, and received his Master’s Degree from Lamar University in 2009. Coach Walker is married to wife Amberly, and they have two children, daughter Carsyn, and son Knox.

Kristin Garza

Mr. Stokic has over 30 years of experience as an athletic trainer. He was Host Athletic Trainer for the 2015 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship’s, the 1994 World Cup and for the 2003 USA Figure Skating Championships. He also served as the Trainer for the 2006 High School All Star Baseball Game. At Bell, Mr. Stokic also teaches Health and Sports Medicine. His wife’s name is Mary.

Mrs.Garza graduated from UT Arlington in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Prior to Bell HS, Mrs. Garza worked at SporTherapy Physical Therapy Clinic as well as serving as Athletic Trainer for Southwest Christian School. Mrs. Garza will teach Health.

Stephen R. Bindner, M.D., C.A.Q. is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Bindner also has a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Sports Medicine by American Board of Family Medicine.

Kristen E. Fleager, M.D.

Dr. Fleager is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the hand and upper extremity (elbow/ arm/shoulder). She is a Southlake Carroll alumni and former competitive gymnast. Dr. Fleager received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University, where she was a Division I athlete in both gymnastics and track & field. She then earned her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and then returned to Stanford to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Fleager was then selected for the Harvard Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship, where she trained under worldrenowned surgeons at Brigham and Women’s Hospital,

Massachusetts General Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Boston. Dr. Fleager treats adults, adolescents, and children. Her approach is to “treat each patient how I would want my family member to be treated”. Non-surgical options are always considered first, and may include splinting, therapy, lifestyle modification, or injections. If surgery becomes necessary, she is trained in multiple surgical approaches such as minimally invasive techniques, arthroscopy, fracture repair, and joint replacement.

Pat A. Peters, M.D.

Specializing in Foot & Ankle Surgery, Sports Medicine, & Joint Replacement (Knee)

frequently speaks to the community, high school students, and peers, to create a better understanding of orthopedic injuries and chronic conditions. Outside of North Texas Orthopedics Dr. Peters is active in his church and several missions programs. He has lead or participated in many medical, educational, and construction trips to South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Mexico. During his medical career he has served on the Board of Trustees at Dallas Christian College, and as a team physician for several professional, semi-professional, collegiate, and high school athletic teams, and for the Texas Motor Speedway. He is devoted to his wife of 30+ years and is actively involved with his four sons playing golf, fishing, hunting, running, and working out.

Dr. Peters is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, has served in several leadership positions in local hospitals including Chief of Surgery, and currently serves as the Director of the Total Joint Program at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine and is a member of their Physician Leadership Team.
