How? There are several ways in which you can get your point of view across, namely: Personal Adviser Your Personal Adviser is there to support you, the student, and can help with any grievance that you may have in the strictest confidence. Your adviser will listen to your needs and if they cannot help for whatever reason they will refer you onto someone who can. Leeds College of Building also provides trained counsellors to help you with College issues or personal problems. Please contact Student Services for more information. Leaflets on a number of subjects are also available from reception at North Street. Course Tutor Your Course Tutor is available to talk to you about concerns with your course. If, for example, you are having problems with your workload for whatever reason, they will listen and either help you to find a solution or refer you onto someone who can help. Comment Boxes There are comment boxes located at each site to make known any problem that has arisen. You can also use these boxes to make suggestions, or if there has been something particularly well done - let us know about it. Questionnaires Surveys covering all aspects of the College are sent out through the year to a cross section of students to gain feedback about facilities and the courses run within the College.

Who? Student Representatives and Student Focus Group meetings At the beginning of the year your class will be given the opportunity to elect a Student Representative. Meetings will be held termly for you to make known your views about anything within the College. We are prepared to arrange extra meetings at short notice to be responsive to any problems that may arise. If you are interested in getting more involved please call Student Services on 0113 222 6002. Students’ Union The Students’ Union is there to support student views in College as well as representing your interests locally and nationally. You can make your opinions known to the Union at any time. Remember, we have contacts in the West Yorkshire Area and in the National Union of Students at the highest level to support you. The Student Union office is at the North Street site near the refectory. Other College Staff It is the aim of all College staff to support students. Often support can be given and problems solved quickly and efficiently by Reception staff for instance. Please do not hesitate to approach any member of staff if you have any concerns, they will be pleased to help.

Complaints Complaints Procedure If you are not satisfied there is a College Complaints Procedure. You can obtain a form from either Reception, Student Services or the Administration Office located on floor ‘D’ at North Street. Try to follow the complaints procedure from stage one as you will find this the most convenient route. If you experience any problems whatsoever please do not hesitate to seek help. Disciplinary Procedures Should you become involved in Disciplinary procedures at College, the Student Services staff are here to support you. If you reach stage two in the disciplinary procedures, you may ask to talk to a member of Student Services staff and you will be given as much help as possible in dealing with the procedures.
