RENEWED: PARTNERING WITH HOPE Located behind Red Lobster off of highway 90 in Lake City, Renewed is an organization committed to helping those in need in the community. You may be familiar with the Renewed Thrift Store, but this is just a portion of the operation. Along with other ministries, Renewed operates a food pantry that provides grocery and pantry items to those in need. The food pantry is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and serves both Columbia County residents and the homeless population within the community. To qualify for this giveaway, Columbia County residents need to bring proof of address, such as a piece of mail, and an ID. Residents receive a large box of food, as well as a bag of frozen meat. The homeless population receive a food kit, hygiene kit, clothing, backpack or bag and a blanket. They also operate a closet as a way to provide needed items for the homeless within the community, such as jackets, shoes and other clothing essentials. At Renewed, the goal is simple: to share the love of God with others.
