Advanced players typically go with a shaft that is lightweight and strong with a smooth finish. Those advanced players who have had shafts break usually prioritize strength over weight and go with a heavier but more durable Titanium shaft.
Intermediate players typically go with a shaft that falls in the middle of the price range for shafts. Intermediate players often like handles that are lightweight and they can sacrifice shaft strength because they are not putting as much force on the shaft.
Beginner players typically go with a shaft that falls in the lower end of the price range for shafts. For the most part that are no concerned with how durable a shaft is.
