Turfco Australia Open For Trade TURF FARM OPEN DAYS EDUCATE 100’S OF INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS By Julie Tiyce, Turfco Sales Manager
During the traditionally quieter winter months at the farm this year, we had over 100 landscapers and 70 Council staff from around the South Coast, Far South Coast, the Southern Highlands and Illawarra attend a 2-hour educational open day at our Turfco Farm in Jaspers Brush. Landscapers often have an idea and feel about how they want an area to look, but I realised a lot of them didn’t have much information regarding which turf is best suited for which area. When I was out visiting landscapers I found that many were interested in visiting the farm to get an understanding of our farm processes and to view our display area showing the newer varieties of turf. They were also interested in the Lawn Solutions Australia Research and Development Facility and all the work that goes into getting these varieties from research centres in the U.S.A to our customers in Australia.
