Creative Creation

Creative Creation This creative adventure is to be handed in before your last Monday of art. I encourage you to get creative and express yourself! You should have friends or family members help you. I expect you to spend a minimum of 30 minutes on your project. Be sure to check out Artsonia.com or my web page http://rolla.k12.mo.us/schools/rolla_middle_school/staff_pages/7th_grade/art/ to see some great student examples.

Project Guidelines: 1. Your project must be a portrait, landscape, OR still life. A portrait should show a person or animal as your emphasis. A landscape should show the environment as the emphasis. A still life should be an arrangement of objects. The “style” is your choice. It doesn’t have to be Realism. 2. Create your project in any medium (material). Ideas: pencil drawing, watercolor painting, felt or fabric stitched or glued, crayon or colored pencil drawing, markers, collage of cut paper, newspaper, wallpaper, photographs or magazines, three-dimensional objects such as toys, paper plates, plastic ware, dolls, found natural objects such as tree branches, rocks, shells… Use whatever you can find around your home or in the bottom of that backpack! Baking, stop animation, or videos are also a fun idea! 3. Your creation should be no larger than this piece of paper. If it is two-dimensional, select a piece of paper that is 8 ½” x 11” and any color. If you are desperate, use the back of this paper! If you decide to be more adventurous and go the three-dimensional route, the base of your project must be able to sit in an 8 ½” x 11” space. In other words, I don’t care how “tall” it is, but it should not extend further than this piece of paper if you were to place your creation on top of it. If you are baking, it is understandable that your dish may be bigger. 4. Finally, come up with a creative title. Sign the front, place the title on the front (underline it), and put your hour on the back. Bring it in to share before your deadline and receive more points. No late work will be accepted—bummer! So, meet your deadline! SCORING GUIDE:
