Letter from the Chairs February 10, 2018 Dear Friends of St. Michael’s Catholic Academy: On behalf of the entire Gala Committee, and all of those who volunteered their time and energy to the Gala, we want to thank you for your amazing support of the 2018 SMCA TV LAND Gala! Tonight’s event is the result of the dedication and hard work of scores of volunteers who have been inspired by the SMCA students and community. The annual Gala is more than our biggest fundraiser of the year – it also serves as a significant community-building night where families and friends come together to celebrate our children and school. Additionally, it gives us a chance to express our gratitude to the dedicated and caring faculty, staff and administration who encourage and guide our children every day. It has been a blessing and an honor to serve as 2018 Gala Chairs. We could not have done it without the amazing support of the volunteers listed on the previous page, as well as SMCA staff. With deepest gratitude, we extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone of you for your efforts and support of the Gala and our community. We hope this evening is memorable and special for you, so please have fun and enjoy yourselves! And feel free to bid high, early and often! Thank you again on behalf of the Gala committee for your support and for joining us tonight. With sincere heartfelt thanks,
Beth Lasita and Carren Soules 2018 SMCA TV LAND Gala Chairs

Fund-A-Vision With an eye on the future, St. Michael’s Catholic Academy will refresh our Academic Building this summer. As we strive to make our classrooms cutting edge, we also look to transform our current technology to systems that allow us to further embrace the digital age. With this in mind, it is our hope you will raise your paddles and join our vision to enhance our technology in three main areas: Focus 1 Research Center As libraries transition from quiet reading spaces to collaborative digital literacy centers, the need for the latest technology is great. Here we visualize a space that includes multiple iMacs with 27” 5k retina displays – helping to refocus this area as a place for students to expand their passion for learning.
Focus 2 Technology Classroom With an ever increasing interest in tech-related fields, it is vital that we stay at the forefront of the technological age. In view of this, we envision an advanced technological learning environment that will inspire student potential with Virtual Reality capabilities and state-of-theart platforms for 3D modeling, detailed graphics, programming and computer aided design (CAD).
Focus 3 Humanities While often thought of as a STEM-only resource, technology at St. Michael’s is used across the curriculum. Students in our Humanities courses are empowered by the integration of technology into the ecosystem of our Humanities classrooms. With that in mind, we look to provide an enhanced mobile device station that will enable Humanities students to utilize a variety of cloud-based technologies and student-centered software.
Help us envision tomorrow, today! Our goal this evening is to raise $100,000 to advance these far-reaching technology initiatives, so please help us by raising your paddle high!
