Speedwatch data for August 2023

Every month the Launton Speedwatch Team are on the road there are records from their work, which are shared with the Parish Council. Below is the report for August 2023. Does anyone have an explanation for activity on 9 August when there were significantly more vehicles (about 25%) on the Bicester Road out of the village, and a great many more identified as speeding. This was before the 20mphlimit was in place. Was there an accident or other problem on the A41that made more drivers divert through Launton? Or was there an event in Bicester Heritage that increased the traffic? Or were there road works in the village that had slowed down drivers, who then tried to make up time in increasing speed as they left the village? All ideas welcome.
