Island Pond Wood - working party reports
Volunteer activity in Island Pond Wood
Alchester Tree Services returned after the winter floods to process the brash from the tree thinning in December and spread some clippings along the paths. The remaining chippings were spread by a couple of volunteers at the April Sunday working party. Spreading the wood chip waste over muddy paths helps to provide a better walking surface.
The May mid-week working party volunteers moved spoil from recent garden work at the bungalow adjacent to the woodland to raise the ground level around the pond. The area around the pond bench had suffered sinkage in recent years and caused the pond to overflow back into the woodland.

Working party dates in June are:
Mid-week: Tuesday 11 June. Meet from 10am at the bench by the pond.
Week-end: Sunday 30 June. Meet from 10am at the bench by the pond.
