NAWIC House August 2010- March 2011 Senior Drafting National Competition
The NAWIC association’s annual competition was to create a 1930’s era house with a modern interior, complete with a minimum of 7 pages of technical drawings. My packet was 12 pages thick, and I was chosen as one of the 13 national finalists, after winning both the Regional and State tiers. My home had gray water recycling, and solar collection, along with an Italian style roof garden.

Folded Space Spring 2012 CAP 102 Paper Exercise
The project set before us was first to develop a system of folding a piece of paper in an innovative and creative way, and then to use that technique to create a spacial experience. My challenge set for myself was to see how few cuts and folds I could perform to a piece of paper in order to still meet the requirements of a space made from folded paper.

Wetlands Pavilion Summer of 2012 Landscape Design Build Class
The wetlands preserve pavilion is a design-build project provided to us from our professor, and our task was to build the project using the model and drawings provided to us. It was an unforgettable chance to learn on the job training both how structures are put together, and how we as designers can better create documents to help the construction process of our projects.

Pallet Security Fall 2013 Arch 301 Construction Project
The project presented to us was to make a security locker in our professor’s pallet garage for his kayaks and bicycles. Using the idea of recycling pallets, we devised a way to make structural members out of stringers, and then made a form out of the same idea. It was an interesting project that helped us to realize that nontraditional materials are more challenging than normal store bought ones.

Galileo Museum Fall 2012 Arch 201 Conceptual Capstone
The Galileo Museum is a building focused on celebrating the scientists miraculous discoveries using a telescope. The central spherical building has a wide swatch cut out of it, acting as a planetarium it follows the moon, Jupiter, and Venus on Galileo’s birthday, as they are the three primary specimens in his research. The reflecting pond in the middle helps to ensure whether the visitors are looking up or down, they see the stars above.

Fall 2013 Arch 301 Indy Manufacturing Plant
Our assignment was to create a building in the old industrial region of Indianapolis in order to bring jobs and revenue to the area. My building is a job creation center than also manufactures art installations for Indiana and surrounding states. The facades of the building are able to be created and changed by the inhabitants, making it a living faรงade made by the users that can be changed over time and at will, so they have a space to show off the skills learned inside.
