Las Vegas Luxury and Our Community

I’m excited to share with you our new focus in the magazine—community and giving back. Behind the scenes, this is not new to many of us. But because we have a platform ready-made for sharing topics we care about with the people we care about, we have begun a new philanthropy-focused series that we’ll continue going forward. As always, we are excited to share the most beautiful properties available right now in Las Vegas and Henderson with you. But with so much tainted politics and agendabased information in our newsfeeds, we also feel it is important to keep our eyes focus outward—on helping others and giving back. By helping others, we feel human again. And by helping others we slowly change the world.

This issue introduces a handful of the vast number of incredible philanthropies available to us in Las Vegas. Becoming involved with them is wonderful for the people and issues they support, and it’s also the best way to become part of your community. And community is what we’re all about.

A quick comment on the luxury market: With the increase in interest rates and market uncertainty, last year was very challenging for most people in real estate. However, with the continued exodus from high tax states, and Las Vegas’s investment development, F1, the Sphere, and hosting the upcoming Super Bowl, our luxury market soared and broke records. We had double the number of $10 million and $20 million-plus sales than in any other year. With low supply and high demand in our luxury market, I expect the luxury market in 2024 to continue growing. This year I wouldn’t be surprised to see some sales transacting in the mid $30 million to $40 million range.

Our team at IS Luxury is here to help people buy and sell the most amazing properties that Las Vegas has to offer. Stop by our beautiful location in Downtown Summerlin, or just call us. We love this destination and helping people find the perfect home for them.

I’m wishing everyone a fabulous 2024. Here’s to a year of giving back to our community.

IMMERSE YOURSELF

Arte Museum’s grand opening ushers Las Vegas into a whole new realm of artistic wonder.

Nestled amid the dazzling lights of the Las Vegas Strip, Arte Museum (lasvegas.artemuseum. com) opened its doors in November to take Las Vegas to another dimension. Located within retail and hospitality complex 63, the two-story, 30,000-square-foot exhibition mesmerizes viewers through immersive media art experiences.

The brainchild of Korean digital design company d’strict (dstrict.com), Arte Museum invites guests to transcend the limitations of time and space in their exploration of nature. Unlike typical immersive exhibitions, Arte Museum engages all five senses. The visuals and soundscapes tailored to each space all contribute to the tactile

experience—think fragrances meticulously designed by a skilled perfumer, a tea bar offering a tasting experience and an interactive live sketchbook. “Arte Museum Las Vegas offers something we don’t think Las Vegas currently offers, a tranquil oasis amid the hustle and bustle of the nightlife capital of the world,” says Sean Lee, CEO of d’strict.

Arte Museum boasts impressive features, including its expansive Garden exhibit, where guests will find the enchanting “Light of Las Vegas” zone, which beautifully captures the vibrant landmarks and ambiance of the city’s nightlife hub. On the other hand, the “Light of Masterpieces” zone provides a serene opportunity for visitors to engage with works by celebrated Western artists such as Claude Monet and Gustav Klimt.

“Our goal is to open approximately 20 venues worldwide by the end of 2026,” reveals Lee. “I can confidently say we will bring the exhibition to more U.S. cities. With each new venue, we further refine the experience. Likewise, we will stay committed to offering people in Las Vegas and around the globe new and innovative ways to find joy and comfort through this experience.” Let the inspiration begin.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

From Summerlin to the Strip, these are the new drinking and dining destinations lighting up the Las Vegas culinary scene.

AQUA SEAFOOD & CAVIAR RESTAURANT

Resorts World Las Vegas’ Caviar Bar has undergone a rebrand. Now known as Aqua Seafood & Caviar Restaurant, the update reflects the fine dining establishment’s evolvement as a haven for worldclass caviar, seafood delicacies and premium spirit options, including the exclusive new Louis XIII de Rémy Martin Cognac Grand Champagne menu. Guests will enjoy a sample of the iconic cognac paired with a Baccarat glass filled with layers of Michelin-starred chef Shaun Hergatt’s truffle potato espuma, Hokkaido uni, crispy potato ribbons and Caspy Reserve caviar. CARAMÁ

A taste of Italy will arrive in the former Lupo space at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino when Caramá opens in January. The brainchild of world-renowned chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck, Caramá is a love letter to Puck’s mother, who taught him to cook. “Caramá will transform the expected into something entirely new. Guests can anticipate a culinary experience that will be nothing short of extraordinary,” says Puck. “Growing up on the border of Italy, I experienced firsthand the cuisine of all the neighboring regions, embracing their textures, sounds, smells and flavors. Caramá will take you on such a memorable culinary journey.” Diners will discover an expansive wine list curated by Piero Selvaggio, a design that pays homage to Italy by Denis Frison and unique spaces ranging from a sleek cocktail bar to an experiential salumi station. wolfgangpuck.com; mandalaybay.com

Bellagio—chef Roy Ellamar has brought his talents to the Summerlin neighborhood with the debut of Fine Company. Focused on innovative takes on American classics across brunch and lunch, the restaurant emphasizes sustainability and responsible food sourcing. Morning highlights include brown butter pancakes slathered in bourbon maple butter and the breakfast burger stacked with Ellamar’s custom beef grind, cheese, bacon, hash browns, maple syrup and a sunny-side-up egg on a French toast bun. In the afternoon, opt for the porchetta sandwich on potato focaccia bread or the shareable salmon crudo. “I set out on a mission to transport diners to a place where they can connect to their most comforting and delicious memories, as well as time spent with the people they care about.” says the chef. “And I can’t think of anything finer than that.” 702.405.0715, finecompanylv.com

A French-forward jewel box now lies within the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas. Welcome to Chéri Rooftop, an outdoor lounge serving French wines and elegant cocktails. Designed by Campbell House and produced by Las Vegas’ JRS Hospitality, the 9,000-square-foot space sparkles with glimmering chandeliers that hang above sumptuous banquette seating and two bars as live DJs set the soundtrack. “With Chéri, we have created an outdoor retreat that is inviting yet immersive,” says JRS Hospitality managing partner Perry Rogers. “Pairing the magic of a Parisian garden with the energy of the Las Vegas Strip, Chéri will deliver unforgettable experiences for all who walk through the garden gates.” Ooh-la-la! 702.776.7777, cherirooftop.com; parislasvegas.com

PETER LUGER STEAK HOUSE LAS VEGAS

Calling all carnivores! Peter Luger Steak House Las Vegas made its Strip-side debut in mid-October at Caesars Palace, bringing with it $1 million worth of beef housed in a state-of-the-art dry room hidden beneath the restaurant. Paying homage to the brand’s original Brooklyn location, which opened its doors in 1887, the space was designed by Jeffrey Beers International with exposed brick, oak floors and tabletops, and warm wood paneling. Pull up a seat in the main dining room, at the central bar or within private dining spaces to enjoy classic steakhouse fare across lunch and dinner—think chilled shellfish towers, crisp iceberg wedge salads and USDA prime beef. Save room for dessert— the Holy Cow hot fudge sundae is piled high with homemade whipped cream. 702.731.7267, peterluger.com; caesars.com

MOON VALLEY NURSERIES

Some of the Las Vegas Valley’s most dramatic and beautiful landscape designs are composed of native plants—the plants that thrived here before humans ever intervened. Among them are the bright sprays of pink fairy duster that attract hummingbirds, the white flowers of low-maintenance little-leaf cordia, flowering autumn sage and vibrant blue palo verde trees.

Moon Valley Nurseries (moonvalleynurseries.com) has specialized in established trees and plants since 1995 and is now the nation’s largest box tree grower (trees that have been started in boxes, leaving the root systems intact). Homeowners and landscape designers who have entire estates to plant or just one small patch to fill in turn to the design specialists and nursery professionals at its locations in Summerlin, Northwest Las Vegas and Green Valley. While other nurseries source their plants from out of state, Moon Valley Nurseries grows all its trees and plants locally, ensuring their health and prosperity. Growing plants and trees in native soil and climate means they can successfully plant year-round and ensures plants are acclimated specifically to Southern Nevada’s climate—

particularly its extreme temperatures in the hot summer months. And while it would be easy to presume that a desert landscape looks a certain way, Moon Valley Nurseries specializes in trees that provide dense foliage, verdant green leaves and plenty of shade, but also thrive in the desert. Moon Valley Nurseries has also entered an impactful community greening project, partnering with the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee, NFL Green and Nathan Adelson Hospice. In celebration of Nathan Adelson Hospice’s 45-year anniversary of providing compassionate care in the community, six fruit trees were planted around its front entrance by sta and families cared for by the hospice—the first ever to receive a Super Bowl community greening grant.

The company’s professional designers will work on-site, on the phone, or will visit your home to provide complimentary design consultations. Its full white-glove service includes design, delivery and planting by nursery employees who are trained to plant, water and fertilize the Moon Valley way—with Moon Valley Nurseries’ Super Charged Moon Juice, which maximizes the nutrient intake and growth potential of trees. It doesn’t just keep its plants local, but its services too. Moon Valley Nurseries does not outsource any services, guaranteeing that its customers get a VIP experience and a landscape customized for their goals.

Las Vegas’ premier custom home builder, Blue Heron, is expanding its services with the unveiling of the Blue Heron Lifestyles Design Studio.

TRENDS 40 702.315.0223

For nearly 20 years, Blue Heron (blueheron.com) has been the Las Vegas Valley’s go-to for luxury custom homes built with a design-forward approach. Now, the development firm has unveiled a new offering: the Blue Heron Lifestyles Design Studio. The 12,200-squarefoot studio was created to exhibit all things interior design, including fine art, furnishings, accessories and textiles, giving clients an opportunity to envision the personalized design details of their dream home. Taking charge of the Design Studio as president is Hedy Woodrow, whose career spans over 30 years in retail, hospitality, design and product development. “I draw on experience working with VIP and luxury clients to create custom interior designs,” Woodrow shares. “Traveling globally and staying in luxurious hotels inspires my design with elements from interiors, floral arrangements, geographies and cultures. In many ways, fashion and interior design follow similar trends in color, texture and impact.”

Clients can expect to follow a three-step process: the Discovery Phase, when they visit the Design Studio to discuss their lifestyle, preferences and influences; the Design Phase, when advanced tools are used to explore a 3D model of the finished home, and color palettes, fabrics, textures and finishes are selected; and the Procurement Phase, when Blue Heron manages vendor interactions, order placement, scheduling and delivery timelines for a seamless turnkey experience. “I love working with a talented team of interior designers and project managers, contributing to our accelerated growth as a design studio,” Woodrow says. “Most importantly, I enjoy meeting clients and helping them create homes that exceed their expectations. Witnessing a client’s home transformation and celebrating each moment with them is truly rewarding.” Welcome home!

THE JUST ONE PROJECT

Over 10 years ago, Brooke Neubauer set out on a mission to end the cycle of hunger in Southern Nevada through intensive volunteer programs that help tackle the harsh barriers in foodinsecure communities. Cue The Just One Project (thejustoneproject.org)—an innovative, client-centric organization that provides clients with the tools to build a solid foundation and gain self-sufficiency. “Food insecurity and poverty do not discriminate, and these social issues often affect all walks of life, and the number of people affected by these issues continues to climb,”

CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION

Las Vegas is famous for its blowout galas for charitable causes, but beyond the high-profile events are heroes in our community who are accomplishing huge things—and doing it quietly. Here, we take an inside look at three organizations blazing their own trail in 2024.

says Neubauer, CEO and founder of The Just One Project. “The mindset that it takes just one to make a difference is in our namesake and is the foundational principle of our entire organization. Collectively, we are making a great difference in the lives of our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has joined our cause.”

Since 2014, The Just One Project has made major strides for the community through various programs such as no-cost community markets, grocery and meal home deliveries, an exciting leadership academy and much, much more. “The Just One Project is the largest distributor of fresh groceries to residents of Southern Nevada, serving more than 20,000 foodinsecure Southern Nevada residents each

month in their homes or neighborhoods,” explains Neubauer. “We get food into the hands of those who need it most via daily drive-thru food distribution at our headquarters, monthly mobile markets and farmers markets, direct delivery and our six no-cost community markets. These signature markets resemble a neighborhood corner store and include fresh produce, pantry staples and recipes. Staffed by The Just One Project case managers, these community markets are also a place where clients may access wraparound services such as rapid rehousing, homelessness prevention, job assistance and more.”

“With volunteer opportunities throughout the week and on Saturdays with no age requirement, we host a diverse range of groups including families with young children, corporate team members, groups from K-12 schools, higher education institution groups and more,” says Neubauer.

F or those looking to get involved, the organization is always accepting volunteers and charitable donations to the Pay It Forward fund, as well as the Charitable Gangster Program, which is a monthly giving subscription model starting at as little as $10 per month. “We take immense pride in our volunteer program and offer multiple ways for anyone and everyone to make a difference,” she adds. “We love to create a positive and energetic atmosphere for volunteers, often playing music and dancing through the activities, such as assembling grocery bags in our community markets, delivering groceries directly to clients, handing out food during our Pop Up & Give mobile markets and serving as guest speakers for our youth programs.”

In the upcoming year, the organization will continue to grow its recently debuted collaboration with UnitedHealthcare Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid: a “Groceries-onthe-Go” mobile grocery store program to help address the issue of food deserts in the Las Vegas Valley. The program offers fresh produce, dairy, proteins, pantry essentials and more—expanding The Just One Project’s footprint to its Southern Nevada neighbors and beyond.

COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS OF NEVADA

“I believe the future of our community starts with our students,” says Tami Hance-Lehr, CEO and state director of Communities In Schools of Nevada (cisnevada.org). “Our name says it all— we bring community resources directly into schools. The adult-sized pressures kids face all impede success in school. Knowing what happens when students don’t get the support they need, Communities In Schools has doubled down on growing the organization to serve more kids—currently serving more than 70,000 students in 80 high-needs public schools across Southern Nevada.”

F or over 40 years, CIS has skillfully developed the idea to bring community resources directly into public schools and has gradually made its way to the top, becoming the nation’s leading stay-in-school organization—including its Nevada-based branch, which focuses exclusively on the unique needs of students in the Silver State.

their success in life,” explains HanceLehr. “On a day-to-day basis, our site coordinators are case-managing around 45 kids, tending to those who show up to their resource room to talk or ask for help; collecting and tracking data to measure our success; and working with school administration to improve their schoolwide goals, whether it be to improve student absenteeism, behaviorrelated concerns or coursework.” She continues, “It’s a simple idea. When each student is provided with the support,

resources and opportunities they need, they can achieve in school, succeed in the workforce and thrive in life.”

T he support from the Las Vegas community has been overwhelming and heartwarming, to say the least.

“Talent is everywhere; however, opportunity is not,” she says. “I’ve witnessed our CIS family of supporters show up for students, doing whatever it takes to eliminate barriers that stand in their way. From our fundraisers, school supply drives, and overall donations from our private and public funders, our city knows the importance of prioritizing education and youth development by giving opportunities. Because of the amazing city we live in, Communities In Schools is growing into more schools, increasing student support more than ever and changing thousands of young lives.”

A s for what’s next? “Over the next two years, we will grow from 108 schools to more than 120. CIS is ready to meet the growing and urgent need for wraparound and social-emotional support to improve attendance, behavior and academic performance, ultimately ensuring students are promoted to the next grade and

graduate from high school. At a time when child poverty has doubled, and chronic absenteeism is at an all-time high, these basic needs, mental health supports, college and career coaching, family engagement and after-school programs are needed now more than ever.”

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE

Allow us to introduce Friendship Circle of Las Vegas (fcvegas.org): a fully inclusive program that builds unwavering bonds and lifelong friendships between children, teens and young adults with special needs. Through an array of programs (think monthly Sunday club, young adult get-togethers, teen workshops and more), the organization focuses on everyone’s abilities and curates an accepting and loving community that values all individuals regardless of the challenges they may face.

W hen I ask executive director Rabbi Levi Harlig about his driving force, his answer is quick. “My wife’s youngest sister has Down syndrome. Seeing my wife’s passion of connecting to individuals with special needs and making sure they

felt part of the community was definitely the starting push.” He continues, “The Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, OBM, is the inspiration behind all we do. It is his teaching of ‘None of us are complete until all of us are included’ that drives our mission at the Friendship Circle.”

T he Circle’s unique approach introduces teenage and young adult volunteers to special friends who, alongside parents, staff and a surplus of supporters, create a seamless circle of friendship. “Kids, teens and young adults who are passionate about having an inclusive community can sign up to participate in programming, with the aim of making friends and being a friend to all who participate in Friendship Circle’s programs,” he adds. “And, of course, donors are the ones who make our cost-free programming a possibility!”

O n the 2024 event lineup, expect to see a mix of returning celebrations and new programs alike.

“Walk4Friendship (walk4friendshiplv. com) 2024 in April is a beautiful show of support from all around the Las Vegas Valley. The corporate sponsors, individual donations, vendors at our

resource fair and the thousands of people who participate to walk in support and unity are really amazing!”

The Circle is also eagerly working on a vocational program to train young adult club participants (which will eventually blossom into job opportunities at Friendship Circle) and expanding its support to youth with a UMatter Division of Friendship Circle, which focuses on mental health support for all.

BENEATH the SURFACE

Cosentino recently unveiled the latest Silestone collections—both boasting an eco-conscious ethos that doesn’t scrimp on style.

Those who favor a clean look and a clean conscience need to look no further for the latest kitchen and bathroom design innovations presented by innovative surface leader Cosentino (cosentino.com).

Cosentino recently launched its newest Silestone collections, Le Chic and Urban Crush, the first additions to the Silestone line in two years. Both collections use Cosentino’s innovative HybriQ+ technology, a sustainable manufacturing method that uses 99% recycled water and 100% renewable electric energy and incorporates a minimum of 20% recycled raw materials in its composition.

Le Chic features contemporary designs in cream and richly colored shades that are a modern interpretation of Parisianand Victorian-inspired elegance. Le Chic’s six distinctive colors with expressive veins and metallic accents portray a timeless allure with nods of nostalgia and classic charm. The Silestone Urban Crush collection, inspired by the different textures of the city and urban style, is available in four new colors.

Comprised of quartz minerals and recycled materials, the collections will withstand the demands of high-traffic areas. Cosentino continues to be a trendsetter in the design surfaces industry, and its newest releases expand Silestone’s existing color range to offer more possibilities. With endless design options, the sleek new surfaces are ideal for transforming kitchens, bathrooms, floors and walls while meeting the highest sustainability standards.

Clockwise from top: Le Chic Eclectic Pearl features delicate veining, texture and metallic accents; the coppery brown Urban Crush Brass Relish; Urban Crush Concrete Pulse is ideal for spaces with contrasting hues; with a nod to the City of Lights, Le Chic Parisien Bleu is inspired by the shades of famed Imperial Roman stones.

NAPA VALLEY DREAMING

From unique accommodations to delicious cuisine and unparalleled wine tastings, an unforgettable trip awaits. Here, we uncover the hot spots for your next visit to Northern California’s wine country.

STAY

Found on the southern edge of Napa Valley is the historic Stanly Ranch, where a new, ranch life-inspired luxury resort—Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection (aubergeresorts.com/ stanlyranch)—has quickly become the place to stay. On the 712-acre working ranch, guest rooms and suites are designed as singular farmhouses with open layouts, each opening to a private terrace with a cozy fire pit. Guests must head to Bear, Stanly Ranch’s culinary experience with sustainably sourced menus created and prepared through techniques such as grilling and fermenting, alongside more traditional preparations, to enhance the flavor of its handpicked ingredients. In addition, relax and unwind at two mountain-view pools surrounded by lavender fields, or head to Halehouse Spa for a deep-release therapeutic session. At the spa, guests can explore their well-being goals fully with targeted mind and body treatments. Stanly Ranch’s wine country living makes it hard to leave. Luckily, this serene location can become a permanent residence—ask about the available twobedroom resort villas or the Vineyard Homes currently being built.

SIP

Napa Valley is fi lled with rich experiences for wine enthusiasts. Make time for these three familyowned standouts.

At Cli Lede Vineyards (cli edevineyards.com), enjoy an array of tastings, from smallbatch private reserve wines to limited-edition blends. When touring Cli Lede in the Stags Leap District, rock around the 60 acres to what the owner calls its Rock Blocks—areas of planting identified with rock songs from his favorite albums, including Abbey Road (The Beatles) and My Generation (The Who). Score a backstage pass to its cool lounge that features rotating art exhibits, such as “White Rabbit” by Grace Slick of Je erson Airplane, while sipping on Lede family wines from ’Round About

Midnight (Miles Davis) cabernet sauvignon to FEL pinot gris. Or reserve a chair in the tasting room, featuring stunning views of the vineyards, and sample its flagship “Poetry” blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot.

Sitting in elegance at the historic Heitz Cellar (heitzcellar. com), savor the flavors while learning about the science behind winemaking and the art of blending and tasting. Located at the original St. Helena property purchased in 1961, The Salon is decorated with antiques, chandeliers and paintings and o ers relaxed outdoor seating aside its vineyards. Taste its iconic single-vineyard cabernet sauvignons from its six Napa Valley subappellations: Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, Howell Mountain, Oak Knoll District and Calistoga. pairing suggestions with cheese and charcuterie from its one-of-akind larder.

In 2023, Cakebread Cellars (cakebread.com) is celebrated 50 years of its vine-to-table experience. From signature Napa Valley chardonnay to classic cabernet sauvignon, guests can choose seated or tour wine tasting or opt for a group atmosphere to make a few friends in the process. Either way, the Rutherford winery delights with delicious tastings and beautiful views.

SHOP

From unique boutiques to chic cafes, Downtown Napa o ers something for everyone. Browsing the shelves at Tay & Grace (tayandgrace.com) for women’s clothes that capture the Napa Valley lifestyle is a must, plus a stop in The Bennington (thebenningtonnapa.com), where the warm atmosphere makes shopping fun and you’ll be sure to leave with unique gifts, whether it’s a locally made trinket or an artisanal jar of jam. For a shopping pick-meup, go to Osha Thai (oshathai. com/napa), where the bright

Thai decor and the smell of the delicious food served (get Lalita’s fried chicken!) are welcoming.

DINE

For an unforgettable dining experience, visitors must eat at PRESS (pressnapavalley.com). Located in the heart of St. Helena, PRESS serves modern California cuisine, and the expertise of its chefs translates through the creative dishes on the menu, each paired with selections from its extensive all-Napa Valley wine list. Under the leadership of Samantha Rudd and chef Philip Tessier, the PRESS culinary team draws inspiration from around the globe while staying rooted in local style and ingredients. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and thoughtful menu, it’s no wonder Bottega (botteganapavalley.com) is one of the most popular restaurants in Napa Valley. The Italian-inspired

restaurant focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients from local farms for beautiful dishes bursting with flavor, and its handselected wine list helps elevate every meal.

The menu changes regularly at FARM at Carneros (farmatcarneros.com), so there’s always something new and exciting to try. This elevated menu by chef John Carney is based on locally sourced produce, including ingredients from the restaurant’s organic culinary gardens. Don’t forget to pair your experience with specialty cocktails by FARM’s culinary team.

SPELLBOUND in SEDONA

Luxe new Arizona destination Ambiente Sedona inspires reflection and renewal in a jaw-dropping natural setting.

Sedona is a magical place in its own right, but with the recent addition of Ambiente, a Landscape Hotel (ambientesedona.com), the Arizona destination has become even more extraordinary. Spiritual awakenings, wellness-minded journeys, and mind and body healing are nearly synonymous with Sedona, and as one of only 20 certified Dark Sky Communities in the world, the small town two hours north of Phoenix is a prime spot to stargaze and think big. Since its February 2023 debut, Ambiente Sedona, with its pristine views of the Coconino National Forest and red rock formations, is well positioned to inspire meditative moments of self-reflection and renewal.

On a recent visit to Ambiente, I discover the remarkable view is no coincidence. Jennifer May, co-owner of Two Sister Bosses—the Sedona company that owns, manages and developed the hotel—shares that after she helped build Mariposa, a Latin-inspired restaurant next door, the view was the main draw from

the beginning. “The location for Ambiente was chosen because it provides guests with the same stunning views, but from the privacy of an intimate, 3-acre resort,” she says. “The location also provides convenient access to all of Sedona’s main attractions and allows guests to enjoy the night sky beaming with stars, followed by waking up to the panoramic vistas illuminated by the Sedona sunrise—a moment we know guests will cherish,” she says, referring to the views from each of Ambiente’s 40 guest atriums and their rooftop patios. Each cube-shaped, glass-encased atrium was intentionally placed and rotated at specific angles to blend in with and seemingly float above the existing landscape, trees and flora. While walking around the property, it feels as

and partnerships with other Arizona locals were of enormous importance for us because we are longtime Arizona natives ourselves and wanted to feature other talented local companies and brands throughout the property,” May says. The atriums and common areas are decked out in wall art and sculptures from local Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art and Renee Taylor Gallery, and the Forty1 menu features a bounty of Bluebird Farms produce, Copper State Ranchers Reserve beef, Huss Brewing Co. and Smelter Town

Brewery beers on tap, and more, making for both artful and flavorful ties to the Arizona community.

though each atrium has been there forever, tucked into this sanctuary surrounded by natural waterways and unbelievable beauty.

While the awe-inspiring sights and sounds are the main attraction, the adults-only luxury property’s amenities and activities are equally noteworthy. Ambiente boasts signature restaurant Forty1, a pondshaped pool, and the intimate and luxurious Velvet Spa. One of my favorite aspects of the property is its close ties to local art galleries and food and beverage purveyors. “At the very beginning, sourcing

In lieu of an on-site fitness center, Ambiente encourages guests to take it outside and explore more than 200 miles of trails through mountain bike rentals and hiking tours, coordinated by its dedicated concierge team. The hotel also o ers exclusive access to the Adobe Jack Trail system, where I had a surprise encounter with a pair of wild javelinas, pig-like animals native to the area, during an afternoon hike. For aspiring stargazers, Ambiente can coordinate a private experience with a professional astronomer who comes directly to the guest’s atrium with powerful telescopes. For oenophiles, the hotel’s partnership with local wine bar and tasting room The Art of Wine o ers a sommelierled wine tasting with local and global wines. For chill-seekers, Velvet Spa provides an in-depth menu of experiences, from intention-setting yogic transformations and healing sound journeys to meditation and an outdoor sauna. There’s even one particularly indulgent option to experience a massage on your atrium’s private rooftop under the stars. “We uniquely curated the cutting-edge wellness o erings at Velvet with my background of over 20 years of experience as a professional esthetician,” May says. “The lavish treatments, along with the overarching composition of the spa, evoke a sense of grounding and reconnecting with the natural environment, bringing pristine tranquility to guests.” As for me, a 90-minute ancient salt stone massage was a perfect and simply rejuvenating way to conclude my visit, and after an extended weekend at Ambiente, peaceful moments led to quiet introspection and a renewed sense of calm.

From top: The view is the main draw, but automatic blackout curtains in each atrium help maintain privacy; the centrally located Forty1 restaurant and beach-entry pool; Forty1 offers upscale breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-room dining.
