PLATFORM PLATFORMFUNCTIONS FUNCTIONS

The platform, available in English, Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian and Spanish, provides tools for creating, delivering and managing gamification-based e-learning programs Particularly, the platform provides a wizard that guides users step-by-step in creating a gamification-based program

STEP 1 - Introducing the program Users are guided through the actions needed to outline and introduce the program (eg, setting the title, description, introductory video and cover image)

STEP 2 - Adding modules and lessons. Users are invited to add modules and lessons. The platform supports videos, quizzes, documents and presentations, external content via URL or embedded content Furthermore, at this stage, users can also define the conditions for applying any bonuses or maluses throughout the learning journey

STEP 3 - Selecting the template. Users can choose one of the five available templates, corresponding to as many sets of dynamics and game mechanics predetermined, such as awarding points and badges when specific conditions are determined These conditions can be modified by teachers through a dedicated tool ("Skillbox"), aimed at enabling the use of the system by everyone, regardless of their degree of knowledge of gamification systems, as well as for a more advanced customization.

STEP 4 - Selecting the scenarios. Users can choose one of the available scenarios, like space, city park, or office

STEP 5 - Customizing feedback Teachers and trainers can personalize the grading and feedback system to include qualitative feedback for their students

STEP 6 - Creation of time-bound challenges. Educators can set mandatory or optional challenges for students to let them earn more points or badges

STEP 7 - Setting up the repository Teachers and trainers can both upload additional materials and incentivize students to share study materials with the class to receive more points, badges and climb the rankings;

STEP 8 - Adding teachers and students. functions to manage students (e.g., enrollment, tracking engagement and results of each) and to collaborate with other lecturers (eg, it is possible to add other lecturers to the course for cocreation/management of the course)

In addition, a ticketing system has been developed were users can request technical support in seven languages. For students, in addition to the above, a available a leaderboard and a personal page where milestones, points earned, and badges are collected

PILOT PILOTRESULTS RESULTS

The platform was tested by more than 200 teachers and teachers and 100 students in in Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain

The project team collected the users' feedback and suggestions through evaluation questionnaires. The results provided the basis for the refinement and final release of the platform. The following pages report the key results
