Vertical Asension



Modular street shelter

The rigid and patterned framework provides both structure and rigidity to the shading facade. The hexagonal modules are supported by the dynamic framework to provide shade and at the same time bring light between the small intertwining spaces along each module. By spanning over the 13th street it provides a connectionto the circulation between the underground and the exterior where both pedestrians and vehicles transit.

This small project relates to the Skin Study. Here we take a closer look on how wood and metal connect and communicate to each other on an architectural way. Moreover, it is a representation of a small component of what could be a skin or facade.
