BERRY SYSTEMS The eye-catching aesthetics of the Watts House project at the University of Brighton played a big role in winning the prestigious Best New Car Park category at the British Parking Awards in 2020. Berry Systems designed the cladding and façades that were key to securing this accolade. The car park features perforated panels in six
different colours, as well as a Green Wall Trellis System to create outstanding aesthetics on the exterior of the structure. The panels are arranged with lighter colours at the top so that the façade lightens as the height of the building increases, reducing the perceived mass and volume of the building and softening it against its backdrop. Planter boxes are also incorporated at the top of the façade to fit in with the green aesthetics of the project, another factor that contributed to it being named Car Park of the Year.
