Katerina Stefanidi
Esta semana brincamos hacia las alturas en nuestra edición de Bellas y Atletas, para rendirle homenaje a una atleta griega que vuela por los aires con gracia y belleza, especialista en la prueba de salto con pértiga: Katerina Stefanidi. Desde temprana edad, Katerina mostró aptitud para el salto con pértiga. A sus 15 años, rompió el récord juvenil Sub-18 con un salto de 4.37 metros. En el 2005, representó a Grecia por primera vez en los Campeonatos
Mundiales Juveniles y en el 2016 compitió por su país de nuevo en los Juegos Olímpicos de Río, llevándose una medalla de oro con un salto de 4.85 m. Fue nombrada Atleta Femenina Europea del Año en el 2017 y Atleta Femenina Griega del Año en 2017 y 2019. This week we are jumping in our edition of Bellas y Atletas to pay homage to a Greek athlete specialist in the pole vault event who flies through the air with grace and beauty: Katerina Stefanidi. From an early age, Katerina showed an aptitude for the pole vault, at the age of 15, she broke the U-18 youth record with a jump of 4.37 meters. In 2005, she represented Greece for the first time at
the World Junior Championships and in 2016 she represented her country again at the Olympic Games in Rio, taking a gold medal with a jump of 4.85 m. She was named European Female Athlete of the Year in 2017 and Greek Female Athlete of the Year in 2017 and 2019.
