Safety & Training Food Safety for Food Handlers (OnLine) ADPP1042 Learn from the comfort of your own home! This web-based training program teaches basic food safety practices in the food industry. This course is recognized as meeting requirements of Section 10 of the Food Premises Regulations, certifying you to work with food in BC. Pet Wellness Professional Dog Walker Program Designed for dog handlers who wish to add credibility to their business. All six courses are required for certification. Typical Dog Behaviour ALTR1075 Dogs communicate all the time; we humans just don’t know their language. Explore the basic elements involved in understanding dog behaviour and social structure. Learn about breed-specific behaviours, stages of normal development, and the social structure of a dog pack. Examine how dogs signal and communicate with each other. Learn why dogs develop difficultto-control behaviours and how to work with them. Topics covered include aggression, predatory chase behaviours, and other abnormal behaviour. This course builds on theories learned in Typical Dog Behaviour.

Walking Multiple Dogs Practical Experience ALTR1079 Afternoon of Day 1: Students review previous class materials on dog behaviour, dogs’ communication signals, and city bylaws. Students complete an exam on this review. Morning of Day 2: Students bring their dog to a local park (location TBA) and practice walking more than two dogs as a group. Immediate instructor feedback and suggestions provided. Prerequisites: Typical Dog Behaviour, Difficult Dog Behaviours, City By-laws and Dogs.
