Expressive Arts Therapy Expressive Arts Therapy Certificate Program This program provides academic and studio-based learning, as well as supervised practice in the community. Students learn to integrate artistic modalities such as visual arts, theatre/ drama, movement, and creative writing into therapeutic practice. Learning takes place in the context of small groups, which move through the program together to provide personal support and a professional network. As the only integrative arts-based certificate training program in BC, students are provided with the unique skills necessary to practice as an Expressive Arts Therapist within a range of educational, clinical, and community settings.

Schedule • September to June for two years • First year students: courses run on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays • Second year students: courses run on Thursday evenings and Sundays • 500 in class hours, 300 practicum hours, 80 studio work hours, and 45 individual therapy hours • Practicum schedule is defined in accordance with participants’ timetables as well as the requirements of the practicum sites
Admission Requirements • A bachelor’s degree or relevant education and experience (eg: arts, therapeutic) • A readiness to learn within creative group settings • Acceptance into the program is determined through the admission process and successful participation in an admissions interview
